Snowmen 3-Level Snow Globe

I saw a card like this on social media and went looking for a way to create it myself. I wanted this to fit into a standard envelope so the finished card fits into a 5x7 envelope and it folds flat as well.

I used a snowman stamp and die set for the images. Those images were stamped, coloured and die cut. One of the globe panels was splattered with white paint and I added some borders at the bottom so the base would not show through the acetate. The sentiment was stamped and added at the front. Just behind the first panel, the two snowmen there are standing up between the two panels. Love how this turned out!

DD November - Blue Poinsettias

Welcome to Dragonfly Dreams November Challenge!

We have an inspiration photo for you this month.

I chose to use the colours from the photo.

The poinsettia was embossed in silver and stencilled using various shades of blue and grey. It was die cut and I added the largest section to a silver hot foided background and then used the remainder for the bottom corner. I inked some white cardstock with the same blue inks, creating an ombre background and die cut the words from that piece. They were adhered to vellum and then to the front of the card. Some flat silver gems were added and I used a white gel pen to draw in some details on the poinsettia.

HLS Christmas -Winterberry Christmas

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge for November!

The optional theme is "Bah, Humbug".

I stamped a background and embossed it in silver. Markers were used to colour in the leaves and the berries. The sentiment was done in two parts - Merry was embossed in white on teal cardstock and Christmas was stamped and coloured. I added a piece of turquoise twine at the bottom before adhering the card font to several layers of coloured cardstock.

SS 738 - Birthday Woods

Welcome to Sketch Saturday Challenge 738!

The optional theme (in addition to the sketch) is to NOT use any black or white.

I chose a paper from Honey Bee Stamps with a beautiful forest image and cut it into four pieces to fit a card front. That paper really did all of the work for my card. I stamped a simple birthday sentiment in brown ink and die cut some leaves to place behind the sentiment. Easy!

DT 152 - Perk Up

Welcome to an extra challenge at Double Trouble! This one is for the Coffee Lovers' Blog Hop.

The small graphic is below - please visit the Double Trouble Challenge Blog for detailed information.

I don't have a lot of coffee or tea stamps but I recently received a subscription kit with some coffee cup images that worked perfectly for this challenge. I stamped the images, coloured then and then die cut them. The background was inked in three shades of blue and I also inked white cardstock with yellow and orange inks. That piece was die cut using a circular sunburst die. The centre of the sun was inked in a very dark orange colour. The cups were arranged around the sunrise and I added a stamped sentiment at the bottom.

Come and join us at Double Trouble and show us how you interpret this challenge.

This challenge ends on November 10.

We can't wait to see what you create!

The Double Trouble Design Team members are providing blog candy for this event. Comment on the challenge post at Double Trouble for a chance to win! This is what I am offering: 10 sheets of alcohol inked backgrounds (2 each of 5 patterns) by Rabbit Hole Designs and a CTMH stamp set.

CD 573 - Paper Hugs

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 573!

This colour scheme was a real challenge for me - definitely not my choice of go to colours.

I ink blended a panel with brown ink (Acorn) and used that as a border for my card. The flowers and leaves were die cut and inked for additional dimension before being assembled. Part of the sentiment was stamped and the other part was die cut. The edges of the card front were lightly inked with green ink and I added some gold sequins around the card.

MTTC 520 - Fun Fold for Christmas

Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 520!

The theme for this challenge is fun folds - one of my favourites!

I chose to make a folding display card - it goes by several different names but that's the easiest!

This card sits beautifully on a mantle but it folds flat to 5x7 for mailing purposes.

I used some old papers with photographic scenes on one side and silver patterns on the reverse. I purposely cut the images so they would run consistent with the photo across the boxes. A sentiment was die cut and added to the front of the card. No embellishments were added to keep this flat. There are two panels on the back to write a message.

Come and join us at MTTC and show us your fun fold cards.

HLS Birthday - Multi-Layered Floral Birthday Card

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers November Birthday Challenge!

This is always an anything goes challenge, as long as the theme is birthday.

I saw a card similar to this one on Pinterest and loved all the layers. I chose a blue and yellow colour scheme for my card.

All the layers were cut (I had to figure out measurements for a larger card than what I usually make). The flowers and the sentiment were heat embossed and the flowers were coloured. The leaves were die cut and added under the flowers and some clear sparkles were coloured with a blue marker and added around the sentiment and the floral spray.

Come and join us at HLS Birthday and show us your birthday cards!

NOEL Christmas Card

The background for this card was created using the Better Press system - it leave a letterpress effect on the paper. That is difficult to see in the photos but the impression is very evident in real life. There is a bit of "feathering" around some of the images... I think my plate was a little dirty when I pressed this particular image.

I coloured the images and die cut around the entire image with a stitched rectangle die. That was adhered to a black mat and then a white card base. I added some small dots with a black marker around the images but that was it!

Enjoy,

Alyson

Birds on Branches

I saw a card like this on Pinterest and wanted to try my own take on it.

The sentiment was embossed in white on the bottom of a piece of Kraft cardstock. The branches, berries and birds were die cut and arranged around the card. I splattered the entire front with white paint before adding it to a red mat and a white card base. Easy, but so pretty!

Enjoy,
