Through the Trees

I am still working my way through the alphabet challenge. This card is for the letter N = nature.

I inked a background in a rainbow colour scheme with the centre being primarily orange, yellow and green. The tree image was embossed in black and the panel was cut down to leave a thin border on a white card base. A simple sentiment was placed across the centre.

Celebrate with Surprise Inside

This card is from the 30 Minute Card Making Stash Dash.

The parameters for this challenge were as follows: Card Style: surprise inside, Colour: rainbow, Embellishment: glittery, Technique: crafter's choice and Occasion: get well soon or celebrate.

I stencilled (technique) a background in a rainbow colour scheme. The images were stamped, coloured and die cut. I placed the cake on a black oval and die cut the sentiment from gold glitter paper. Inside the card, there is a pop-up with a birthday cupcake and a sentiment.

I did not finish within 30 minutes but I was close - an extra 5 minutes.

Stencilled Floral Cards

I borrowed some 3D embossing folders and stencils from a friend and spent some time playing around. These are the results.

Each card was splattered with a combination of white, black or gold paint and adhered to a black mat and then a white card base. The stencilling was done in various colours with oxide inks. I chose two birthday sentiments and two other sentiments and purposely kept these simple.

Ink Blended Birthday Cards

These cards were all made the same way. I inked a circle that was masked on the card front and then heat embossed silhouette images inside the circles. The sentiments were also heat embossed and I die cut the front with a stitched rectangle die. Each front was adhered to the card base with craft foam.

Which set is your favourite?

Masked Snowmen

Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends!

Although July is typically warm here, I am thinking abut Christmas cards. I found a sweet stamp and die set called Feeling Frosty (Sunny Studio) and I stamped, coloured and die cut a pile of snowman images. These two cards are the same style but in different colour schemes.

I cut a piece of masking paper like a small hill and placed it on the back of a circle stencil. I inked the background to make it appear like a hill at the bottom. The sentiment was stamped and I used a score board to score lines along the edges. The snowmen were added along with some white gems. Easy - and I may choose to mass produce these as making individual Christmas cards each year is a HUGE job!

Hello for Sketchy Saturday

I like to play along withe the Sketchy Saturday challenges although I am definitely behind!

This sketch lent itself to an ink blended panel in yellow, orange and red. I splattered that with water and added it to a 3D embossed piece of black cardstock. The leaves were die cut from gold paper and patterned vellum and assembled under the circle. I stamped the sentiment in black in the centre and then stamped a yellow/orange mix at the top and an orange/red mix at the bottom. Some gold gems were added around the card.

Pair of Elephant Cards

Nelly the Elephant is a set of dies from Studio Light. I placed Nelly in two different backgrounds.

The first has Nelly sitting up. The background was inked with Distress Oxide inks and covered with a clear glitter paste. I die cut two ovals and adhered Nelly to the centre. The sentiment "tons of love" fit so perfectly.

The second card has Nelly fully sprawled out within the sunflowers. I die cut a cloud background and used a white gel pen to outline the clouds. Nelly was arranged on the left side and I placed the sunflowers around her - tying as much as possible to avoid it looking like she was farting flowers :) I used markers to add some interest to the flowers and leaves.

Frosty Hello Shaker Card

This is another card made with the Feeling Frosty set.

The circles were die cut from the card front and I embossed that piece with a cascading dot embossing folder. I inked a panel using turquoise and blue inks and placed it behind the circles with "snow" inside to make mini shaker sections. A sweet snowman was added at the bottom and the sentiment was placed across the centre circle.

Rainbow Card Set

I created a single card like this a while ago and decided to make 16 of them to separate into two sets of 8 cards each. They are perfect to give away as the sentiment can be used for almost anything.

Sending Smiles Baby Elephants

How sweet are these baby elephants? This card was inspired by one made for the Sunny Studio blog.

I ink blended the grass panel and die cut it in parts with an arch grass die. The sky was ink blended, splattered with oxide sprays and white paint and the grass panel was placed on top. I stamped, coloured and die cut the elephants, clouds and balloons and adhered them to the front and a sentiment was stamped in the corner. I used a black marker to draw the strings for the balloons. Everything was added to a stitched mat and then to the card base.

AH 686 - Rainbow Just a Note

Welcome to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 686!

The sketch is shown below.

This is actually the second card I created for this challenge. The first one is shown further down the post.
I ink blended a background with Distress Oxide inks and die cut the frame. I also cut the frame from white cardstock to get the inside piece. I stamped a large sentiment on the white piece and adhered that and the frame to a black mat. I coloured several small white flat sparkly gems with markers to match the flowers and added them to the openings.

This was the first card I made...  used glitter gel on the flowers and added a die cut sentiment on a vellum panel.

Come and join us at Atlantic Hearts and show us how you interpret this sketch.

You have until Sunday evening to link up your project.

We can't wait to see what you create!

Birthday Gatefold Card

I purchased the Gina K Designs Garden Gate die and it is perfect for creating gatefold cards like this one. I added a hook and loop dot to keep the front closed.

The gate was die cut from white cardstock and I added black panels behind each section. All the flowers and leaves were die cut and assembled on the gate and I added clear Stickles to the centres of the flowers. The sentiment was stamped, die cut and stacked three times for strength.

Inside the card, I ink blended a panel and used a stencil with white pigment ink to create the design. A second sentiment was stamped, die cut with an oval die and adhered to a black oval mat. The inside piece lifts up to allow a place to write a message.

Rainbow Hello

This is one of my favourite designs, especially for mass production. It's easy to ink blend the left side of a card front using Distress Oxides. The image was embossed in black and I added two sentiments on the right side. The front was adhered to a black card base.

Rainbow Brick Card

This card is based on one I saw online - I love rainbows so a rainbow brick background was very appealing!

I stencilled the background with 8 oxide inks in a rainbow colour pattern. The butterflies and the sentiment were die cut from black cardstock and I added gold glittery bodies to the butterflies. The front was adhered to a black card base. I think it's quite striking!

I Woof You

This cute mini slimline card was created for the 30 Minute Card Making Stash Dash.

The parameters for this challenge were as follows:

Type of card: slimline/mini slimline, Colour: monochromatic, Embellishment: three of a kind, Technique: fussy cutting and Occasion: thinking of you or friendship.

I ink blended a turquoise background and splattered it with water. I die cut three circles and placed black cardstock behind the inked panel. The dogs were stamped, die cut and adhered inside each of the circles. I stamped and fussy cut the sentiment and added three gems around it.

I took the original photo BEFORE I coloured the dog's tongue pink... this is the photo after that was done!

Rainbow Stripes on Black

This card was created for an online crop event - I used a rainbow colour theme.

The stripes were cut and adhered to a black panel. I ink blended a rainbow on white cardstock and adhered the stamped sentiment to that piece. I added some gold metallic thread to the back and glued the sentiment to the front. The black panel was adhered to a white card base and I added some gold gems around the card.

Sunflower Mice Card Set

These adorable mouse images were part of a kit from the recent Crop and Create event. I stamped, coloured and die cut the mice and bees and adhered them to card fronts that were ink blended and splattered with water. The sentiments were stamped at the side of each image. There is a set of 8 cards and I made two extra cards just for me!

White Birdie Card

A couple of days ago, I posted a card with two lovebirds... this is the other bird die set that I love!

The pieces were die cut from white cardstock except the eye, claws and beak. I inked the images and assembled them. The background was ink blended on turquoise cardstock and embossed. The bird and the flowers were arranged and I added a heat embossed sentiment under the image. Some silver gems were placed around the card.

Cheerful Chirps Lovebirds

I just adore this pair of lovebirds!

I die cut everything from white cardstock except the claws. The pieces were inked and arranged on a blue cardstock with a black mat. I stamped the sentiment above the hanger and used a white gel pen to add details to some of the flowers.

Trio of Easter Cards

I don't send Easter cards but the latest Let's Stamp Together class was an Easter themed class. These cards are super cute! They were all about ink blending, embossing and shakers.
