Hexagon Birthday Card

I like to do the Sketchy Saturday challenges and this is the latest one.

I chose a black and white background with pink flowers.

The hexagons were die cut and arranged on a splattered background. The stems were stamped, coloured, die cut and arranged over the hexagons. I added a sentiment across the lower hexagons and placed some silver gems around the card. I used a shimmer brush on the flowers but it sort of exploded on me, leaving far more shimmer than I wanted! Such is life...

Hello for Sketchy Saturday

I like to play along withe the Sketchy Saturday challenges although I am definitely behind!

This sketch lent itself to an ink blended panel in yellow, orange and red. I splattered that with water and added it to a 3D embossed piece of black cardstock. The leaves were die cut from gold paper and patterned vellum and assembled under the circle. I stamped the sentiment in black in the centre and then stamped a yellow/orange mix at the top and an orange/red mix at the bottom. Some gold gems were added around the card.

Winter Wishes Card

This card was made for the Sketchy Saturday challenge.

I stayed true to the sketch because it worked for my idea.

The focal image is from a Doodlebug Designs patterned paper and it features winter animals and characters. I designed the card according to the sketch and added a simple sentiment at the left side.

You Make Me So Very Happy

This card was created for the Sketchy Saturday challenge.

I reversed the panels (accidentally). I cut them, taped them together and stencilled those pieces. They were adhered to the card base and I stamped a sentiment on a white circle. That was adhered to a silver circle and I placed flowers and leaves as per the sketch.

Swinging Birthday

Sketchy Saturday is a challenge I like to do when I have some extra time. This one was fun as I chose a black and white colour scheme.

The papers are old SU papers and I added a black mat around the largest piece. The image was stamped in black and die cut with a circle, along with a mat piece. A small sentiment was added with foam tape. Easy!

Hope All is Well

This simple card was based on a sketch - I used 49 and Market papers.

I followed the sketch for the placement of the panels and die cut a stitched hexagon from vellum. The image is a rub-on that was die cut with a circle and I added a darker circle behind it, along with some silver metallic thread. The sentiment was added at the bottom of the circle. I used three colours of Liquid Pearls to add some dots around the card.

Birthday Corner Flowers

The Sketchy Saturday challenge is one I like to do as often as possible.

The info is shown below.

I used a Spellbinders die set to cut the flowers and leaves. They were arranged around an offset panel on top of an embossed background. Easy but cute!

Just for You Floral Spray

This card was made for a weekly challenge that I like to enter.

The details are below.

The background was stencilled in light grey. I used old striped papers for the three panels and added a floral spray based on colours from the stripes. The sentiment was embossed and added at the side of the flowers. I used a black pen to add dots around the images.

Amazing Butterfly Shaker

I like to do the Sketchy Saturday challenge that is posted by a friend of mine. The sketch is shown below.

I stayed true to the sketch as there were so many layers. I chose a teal, purple and light green colour scheme. The third layer was stencilled and I turned the small rectangles into shakers and inked a purple butterfly to go on top. The sentiment was placed across the butterfly.

Split Flowers Birthday

This card was created for the Sketchy Saturday challenge post. The sketch is shown below.

I flipped the sketch horizontally so the larger strips would be on the left side. I chose some gorgeous patterned paper and cut the strips but kept the image intact. They were arranged on green cardstock and I added that to a teal front and then a light blue card base. The sentiment was stamped on leftover paper and added to a teal circle. I placed a few gems around the sentiment.

Happy Hello Swing

This card was created for a challenge that a friend of mine posts once a week.

The sketch is shown below.

I chose to use an oval instead of an arch shape. I die cut the oval from white cardstock and then embossed the rest of the white piece. The oval was ink blended and I stamped some greenery at the bottom and a girl on a swing. Everything was adhered to a black card base with foam tape. I added a sentiment and a small butterfly as per the sketch.

SS 749 - Hello Sunshine

Welcome to Sketch Saturday Challenge 749!

The optional theme (in addition to the sketch) is a trio of something.

I couldn't make the trio work so I used only the sketch. The purple background was embossed with a small dot embossing folder and I added a piece of light turquoise patterned paper on a diagonal. Two slim frames were cut and I also placed two glitter strips along the bottom so they fit under the frames. The flowers were stamped, stencilled and die cut to represent the half circle and I added five clear gens to the left. Light turquoise gems were also placed on each flower and a die cut sentiment was adhered near the top.

Come and join us at Sketch Saturday and show us how you interpret this week's challenge.

You have two weeks to link up your project.

We can't wait to see what you create!

Enjoy,

Alyson

Love You Flowers

I like to participate in Sketchy Saturday which is run by a friend of mine. The most recent sketch is shown below.

Although it is a layout sketch, I turned it into a card.

I stamped and embossed a floral spray, coloured it and used a craft knife to cut around the edges of the images at either end. The top sentiment was heat embossed on black cardstock and I stamped the word "love' and die cut "YOU" and adhered them to a black stitched frame outline. Two of the sentiments were arranged under the fussy cut sections and I added the other one at the top. I also used a white gel pen to add some interest to the flyers. I used a black marker to draw a border around the edge of the card front before adhering it to a black card base. Silver Stickles were added around the entire image.

Enjoy,
