 This is the third card using these adorable animals! 

This one was very simple - the image was stamped and coloured and I also stamped the sentiment under the doggies. I raised the card front on the base with foam tape. Easy!

Doggie Friends Flip Card

 This adorable card is so easy to make. I chose a doggie theme. 

The images were stamped, coloured and die cut. I cut an oval window in the front of the card and added the same size oval inside with the doggies and the sentiment. The inner flap also folds back so there is a large place to write a message.

Friendly Cats

 I finally had a chance to play with a stamp and die set new to me. I love the line-up of animals - there are also dogs and birds but those projects will be posted in the next day or so. 

For this one, I used the cats. I had an older CTMH card front that I used and I stamped, coloured and die cut the cat images. That was lined up along a solid strip and the sentiment was placed underneath. I die cut some tiny butterflies and placed them above the cats and added twine along the bottom.

AH 692 - Birthday Flowers

Welcome to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 692!

The sketch is shown below.

I stayed very true to the sketch as it worked for what I wanted. I die cut tons of images - flowers, buds and leaves. Each of them was inked and assembled. I splattered the background with gold paint and added a smaller rectangle frame. The floral images were arranged on the card and I placed an embossed sentiment across the front. Gold gems were scattered around the card.

Wishing You Happiness

 I designed this pretty card using shades of purple and yellow. 

The circle opening (which is barely visible) was die cut from the top two panels and I placed a lattice background underneath. The peonies were stamped, stencilled and die cut and I arranged them around the circular opening. Opposite edges of the yellow paper were inked and the foiled sentiment was placed off to the side with gold metallic thread underneath. I added some gold gems around the card.

Hexagon Birthday Card

 I like to do the Sketchy Saturday challenges and this is the latest one.

I chose a black and white background with pink flowers. 

The hexagons were die cut and arranged on a splattered background. The stems were stamped, coloured, die cut and arranged over the hexagons. I added a sentiment across the lower hexagons and placed some silver gems around the card. I used a shimmer brush on the flowers but it sort of exploded on me, leaving far more shimmer than I wanted! Such is life...

Cut It Up 361 - Wheelie Great Birthday

 Welcome to Cut It Up Challenge 361!

The theme for this challenge is embossing (either dry or heat embossing). I chose dry embossing. 

The grey background was embossed with a brick folder and I dragged a grey ink pad over the paper to enhance the bricks. The arches were die cut and I inked the inner one to create an outdoor scene. The bike was stamped, coloured and die cut and I added a sun at the top. The sentiment was placed under the image.

Window Swing Pop-Out Card

 I have seen this card style everywhere lately and wanted to try my version of it. I like how this one is a bit different as the last white panel is tucked behind the swing out panel (not shown in the photos). 

I chose rainbow papers from Paper Rose to complement my cardstock colours. The front panel folds out when the card is opened. Inside the card, there is a second panel with a pattern and I added an image and a second sentiment to the writing panel.

Arch Scene Card

This was such an easy card to make - just a stencilled scene adhered to the inside of the card and an arch shape die cut from the front panel of the card. I stamped a sentiment and adhered it across the opening - that’s it!

If Friends Were Flowers...

 This adorable card was CASEd from one made by Deepa Robbins. I loved the colours and the design. 

The flowers and leaves were die cut and I stamped a mouse and a tiny bee. The circle was die cut in the centre of the card front and I stamped the sentiments along the edge of the circle and placed pink cardstock underneath. The images were inked and arranged in and around the circle. I added some clear gems to finish off this cute card.

Floating Flowers Birthday Card

 This pretty card was inspired by one made by Lisa Curcio. 

I chose an arch shape for the front and the inside of the card. The front is simple - layered arches with flowers and a die cut sentiment. 

Inside the card, the open arch has flowers floating inside. I used the same flowers as on the patterned paper and added a few sequins around them (most are further to one side and are not visible in the picture). There is a panel on the right side to write a message.

Twin Flip Screen Card - Version 2

 I made a card of this style a while ago - this is the one I taught in my Facebook group. 

I chose teal papers with gold foil for this design. The card is held together with a belly band and once opened, there are two flaps that have sentiments on them. Under those two flaps there are white panels to write a message. I used ephemera pieces to decorate this card.

Blue Daisies

 I love the dies (usually designed by Yana Smakula for Spellbinders) where the inner flower pieces are separate from the frame. This daisy one has more detailed pieces than the others I have. 

I die cut the image twice from silver foil and white cardstock. The foil outlines were adhered to white cardstock and I kept the white pieces in their places on a piece of tape so I could ink them. Once that was done, they were inlaid back into the silver outlines. I added a thin strip of silver foil under the images and stamped the sentiment at the bottom.

Quirky Birds

 I finally played with a new stamp of quirky birds! I stamped the birds and coloured them with my Copics. The clouds were stencilled behind and I adhered the front to a teal mat and then an orange card base. The sentiment was stamped at the bottom.

Masked Snowmen

 Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends! 

Although July is typically warm here, I am thinking abut Christmas cards. I found a sweet stamp and die set called Feeling Frosty (Sunny Studio) and I stamped, coloured and die cut a pile of snowman images. These two cards are the same style but in different colour schemes. 

I cut a piece of masking paper like a small hill and placed it on the back of a circle stencil. I inked the background to make it appear like a hill at the bottom. The sentiment was stamped and I used a score board to score lines along the edges. The snowmen were added along with some white gems. Easy - and I may choose to mass produce these as making individual Christmas cards each year is a HUGE job!

Washi Tape Christmas Cards

 At a recent crop, I used some layering washi tape and created 72 images - yes - 72! I die cut them in squares and circles and layered each on a white mat. The front card panels were all embossed and I added a gold hot foiled sentiment at the bottom. 

I give these to my church for their Christmas market - people are always asking for Chrimstas cards and these were quick and easy to make!

Hello for Sketchy Saturday

 I like to play along withe the Sketchy Saturday challenges although I am definitely behind! 

This sketch lent itself to an ink blended panel in yellow, orange and red. I splattered that with water and added it to a 3D embossed piece of black cardstock. The leaves were die cut from gold paper and patterned vellum and assembled under the circle. I stamped the sentiment in black in the centre and then stamped a yellow/orange mix at the top and an orange/red mix at the bottom. Some gold gems were added around the card.

AH 690 - Thinking of You Squares

Welcome to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 690!

The sketch is shown below. 

I used the same shapes as in the sketch. I chose a black and white colour scheme and added bold colours to the images with markers. Everything was matted - some panels on two or three mats. I added a few gems around the sentiment and the circle and added Stickles to the centres of the flowers.

Pair of Elephant Cards

 Nelly the Elephant is a set of dies from Studio Light. I placed Nelly in two different backgrounds.

The first has Nelly sitting up. The background was inked with Distress Oxide inks and covered with a clear glitter paste. I die cut two ovals and adhered Nelly to the centre. The sentiment "tons of love" fit so perfectly. 

The second card has Nelly fully sprawled out within the sunflowers. I die cut a cloud background and used a white gel pen to outline the clouds. Nelly was arranged on the left side and I placed the sunflowers around her - tying as much as possible to avoid it looking like she was farting flowers :) I used markers to add some interest to the flowers and leaves.

Birthday Rainbow Flower

 This was a new technique for me - one taught by Mindy Eggen. 

The background was watercolored - totally not my strength. Once it was dry, I embossed that panel with a 3D folder. Using the coordinating stencils, I coloured the image, pulling colours from the watercolored background. That took a long time... I splattered the piece with black, white and gold paint and adhered it to a black mat and then a white card base. The sentiment was placed at the side and I added some clear dew drops around the card. I am so happy with how this turned out!

Stencilled Daisies

 These two cards were made withe the same products but in different colours. 

I embossed the image and stencilled the flowers and leaves. Each piece was cut down to an A2 size and added to a coloured mat. I placed a hot foiled sentiment at the bottom and used Liquid Pearls to add some dots around the images.

Blue Peonies Acetate Card

 This card was inspired by one made by Mindy Eggen for the Let's Stamp Together program. 

The floral image was stamped, stencilled and die cut. I also cut two blanks of that image. The front blue panel was ink blended, adhered to a back panel and then adhered to an acetate card base. The back panel was covered with white cardstock on both sides. The flowers were attached to the front, trimmed along the edges and a blank piece was attached to the back to cover up the adhesive. I added a silver glitter paper piece on the back of the front panel so the edges would show through to the front. The sentiment and some gems were placed on the front.

Cut It Up 360 - Birthday Vellum Background Card

Welcome to Cut It Up Challenge 360!

The theme for this challenge is to make your own background.

I love using vellum on my cards so I chose to create a vellum background. 

I used three Copic marks to scribble on a piece of vellum and then touched the "joining" areas with rubbing alcohol which helped the colours to spread. Once that piece was dry, I stamped and embossed floral images in white along the side. That was adhered to the white card base and I added a foam taped die cut frame with acetate and placed pink, purple and teal sequins inside the shaker. A sentiment was placed on top of the shaker.

Purple Peonies

 These two cards are from the second class for the Let's Stamp Together program. 

I chose a purple colour scheme for the peonies. They were stencilled and die cut. I embossed a striped background for the first card and dragged a purple ink pad over top. The image was placed at the side and a sentiment was added at the bottom. 

The second card has an oval background that was lightly stencilled. The peony image was cut along the edge and the smaller piece was inserted behind the main image.

LST Peony Cards

 These three cards are from the latest Let's Stamp Together kit. The peonies are gorgeous! 

I stamped and stencilled the peonies for the first card. I die cut two additional images and stacked them together. The sentiment was stamped directly on the card base and I also splattered the base with gold paint. The flowers were added at the top. 

The second card used a design that I gravitate to when I need a quick card. The images were stamped in the corners and stencilled. I die cut a large word (you) and stamped the smaller sentiment underneath. 

The final card was marker coloured - the original class used watercolours but my attempt was a complete disaster... I splattered white paint on a black background and added the image at the side. A small sentiment was placed at the bottom with foam tape.

9 Square Birthday Card

 This card was made for an online challenge. I used a stitched die cut for the base and placed the squares on that piece. The longer piece has a sentiment and a die cut flower at the side. I added a few clear gems to the card.

Tuck and Reveal Card

 I saw a card in this style on YouTube - had to create it myself! 

I chose a black and white colour scheme. The middle panel tucks under the side panel - hence the name of the card (Tuck and Reveal). I added some black and white leaves and a sentiment on the front and a floral outline on the inside panel. There is a place on the back to write a message.

Butterfly Twin Flip Screen Card

 This is such a pretty card and it doesn't require any special dies to make it. 

The finished size is 6x6.

I chose some old papers for which I had butterfly ephemera. I used gold holographic paper for the mats to bring out the gold in the papers. There is a piece of acetate running across the centre of the card that allows the images to pop out when the card is opened. 

A belly band holds everything closed.

JOY Stitched Cards

 I have been taking these last two stitched cards to crops time after time and I never get to them... the last crop I went to, I decided to finish them first! 

Stitching the elements takes a lot of time. I die cut the JOY word from silver foil paper and once the stitching was finished, the fronts were adhered to embossed pink panels and white card bases. I added small gems to the centres of the tiny flowers.
