CD 705 - Birthday Stripes

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 705!

The colour grid is below.

I choose to make a clean and simple card.
I masked off three long rectangles on a card front and ink blended each of them using the colours in the grid. The leaf and sentiment were stamped in black ink and I splattered the card front with gold paint. It was adhered to a white card base with foam tape.

CD 703 - Set of Hexagon Cards

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 703!

The colour grid is below.

I used a quad stencil to create four backgrounds using all the colours in the grid.

Once the stencilling was finished, I cut the pieces into card fronts and adhered each to a teal card base. The sentiments were either stamped or embossed in gold. I stamped a few stars on some of the cards but purposely kept these flat as they will be given to a friend and I know she mails them so I didn't want to add bulky embellishments.

CD 701 - Arch Frame Card

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 701!

The colour grid is below.

I stamped, coloured and die cut three floral pieces. The arch frame was die cut from silver foil and I stamped the arch sentiment on the light blue cardstock and I inked the edges of the paper as well. I inked a piece of white cardstock with the same colour of ink as the flowers (it turned out lighter) and splattered that piece with water. The smaller arch was die cut from the front and I turned the card into a shaker. I used silver Stickles for the centres of the flowers and a black pen to draw tiny dots around some of the flowers.

CD 699 - Happy Thoughts Butterflies

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 699!

The colour grid is below.

I used all four colours plus gold, black and white.

A stitched background was splattered with black paint and I cut the two butterflies from that panel. I inked two sections of cardstock using the challenge colours and adhered the butterfly panel to that piece and then matted it on a black card base. The sentiment was embossed in black and placed in the centre. A few gold gems were added around the card.

CD 697 - Sending So Much Love

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 697!

The colour grid is below.

I used green in addition to yellow.

The background was masked and ink blended with grey ink. The sentiment was stamped off to the right side. The floral image was die cut, stencilled, then stencilled again with a dot pattern over the open stencil to get the pattern on the flowers and stacked three times. That was added to the side after a black mat was placed under the main panel. Some iridescent gems finished off this pretty card.

CD 695 - Birthday Stripes

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 695!

The colour grid is below.

I used all 6 colours plus silver and black.

I cut strips of cardstock from all six colours in 1/4" strips. The silver foil pieces were cut at 1/8". I arranged the pieces on a sheet of printer paper, maintaining a colour pattern. That piece was adhered to a black base. I die cut two circles and embossed the sentiments in silver. That was adhered slightly above the centre and a few black gems were added around the sentiment.

CD 693 - Lacy Floral Card

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 693!

The chart is shown below.

I used the closest colours I had to ink blend my floral piece although the green in the chart looks more blue on my card. That was set on a stitched rectangle and then a lace die cut. I added foam tape to the back of the rectangle piece and adhered that entire section onto a stitched card front. A few gems were placed around the image and a sentiment was added in the corner.

CD 691 - Sweet Friend Butterfly

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 691!

The colour grid is shown below.

I used all three colours.

I ink blended a background using Cracked Pistachio, Seedless Preserves and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide inks and die cut the grid pattern from that piece. It was added to a piece of white cardstock and adhered to a card base with a black strip on the left side. I die cut a butterfly cross piece from black cardstock and silver glitter paper and placed it across the grid. The sentiment was embossed on black and added at the bottom. Three black gems were placed around the butterfly.

CD 689 - Birthday Embossed Leaves

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 689!

The graphic is below.

This colour scheme was a struggle for me... I finally decided to use all the colours as well as white and gold.

I cut a strip of each of the colours and taped them together on the back. That was embossed with a leaf pattern. I split up the pieces and adhered them to a white card base, leaving a small space between each piece but continuing the embossed pattern across the card. The sentiment was die cut from gold cardstock and placed at the bottom along with some gold glitter gems.

CD 687 - Friend Striped Circle Card

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 687!

The graphic is below.

I used the three colours in the form of strips of cardstock that form a circle. I die cut a scalloped circle and various flowers and leaves from white cardstock. The scalloped circle was placed around the coloured one and I used both silver and turquoise gel pens to draw lines on the leaves and flowers. They were arranged in two corners and I added silver gems to the centres of the flowers and around those images. The sentiment was die cut from silver paper and vellum and placed across the circle.

CD 685 - Hello Flowers

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 685!

The graphic is below.

I used the two orange shades and green.

The flowers were stencilled and I splattered that piece lightly with black paint. I cut the image down and placed it on a black mat and then on a peach card base with foam tape. The sentiment was die cut x3, stacked and added to the front. I added some gold gems on the card as well.

CD 683 - Bold Birthday Fun Fold Card

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 683!

This challenge is all about bold and bright colours.

I chose a piece of patterned paper with an alcohol ink design on it. This card is a fun fold card - a very simple one. The right panel was embossed and there is a blank panel for a message once the card is open. I die cut two circles and inked the white one with a dot stencil. The sentiment was placed on top of that and some gold gems were added around the circles.

CD 681 - Thinking of You Olive Branch

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 681!

The graphic is below.

I added a shade of yellow in addition to the two required colours.

The card front was embossed with a subtle embossing folder and I lightly inked a white square and added the olive branch to that piece and placed a stitched frame around it. The sentiment was stamped and added at the bottom. I drew a line around the card front and placed a few gems around the branch.

CD 679 - Sending a Hug

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 679!

The graphic is below.

I used all three colours plus black and white.

The coloured background was ink blended using oxide inks. I die cut the image and created a circle opening with both black and white cardstock panels. The white panel was embossed and I arranged the image on the blended background to show through the circles. The sentiment was adhered to the bottom and I added some clear gems at the base of each flower.

CD 677 - Autumn Greetings

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 677!

The graphic is below. Please check the information carefully to ensure you use the correct elements.

In addition to green and orange, I added yellow plus black, gold and white.

The black background was die cut, leaving an opening in the centre. I embossed the sentiment at the bottom and embossed a piece of gold foil (leaf embossing folder) to go behind the opening. The pumpkins and leaves were die cut from white cardstock, inked with Distress Oxide inks and splattered with water. Those images were arranged at the bottom of the arch. I added some orange-gold gems around the opening.

CD 675 - If Friends Were Flowers...

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 675!

The graphic is below.

I used all three colours for my card.

I stamped the floral image and used stencils to colour the flowers and leaves. The background was splattered with a black shimmer brush and I stamped and added the sentiment in the bottom corner. I matted the image on black, pink, green and finally a white card base. Some iridescent gems were placed around the card.

CD 673 - Smile Z-Fold Card

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 673!

The graphic is below. This was a strange colour scheme for me... just not colours I would usually use together.

The image was stamped and stencilled using orange in the centre of the large flower and red along the edges. I chose grey for the leaves since no green was allowed. That piece was die cut and stacked three times for strength. I stencilled two of the panels (the inside hidden panel is white) and adhered everything to a grey card base. The sentiment was added at the bottom right and there is also a smaller flower on the inside panel.

CD 671 - Embossed Leaves

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 671!

You must use both colours shown below.

I made an autumn leaf card. The leaves were embossed with white embossing powder on white cardstock and I ink blended both orange and yellow ink on top. I splattered the entire panel with gold paint and added an embossed sentiment across the bottom, along with some gold thread. A few gold gems were placed around the sentiment.

CD 669 - Fabulous Day Acetate Card

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 669!

There are only two colours to use for this challenge. Please check out the graphic below.

I made an acetate card like this many moons ago but decided to revisit it since it is such a pretty design and it works perfectly with limited colours.

I cut the card front and used a detailed die to add interest along the edges surrounding the acetate. I die cut several leaves and arranged them on the acetate piece and then adhered that to the back of the front panel. I had to place the same leaves on the back to cover all the adhesive and I added a second piece of white cardstock on the back of the panels above and below the acetate. The flowers were die cut from purple and mint with a silver centre and adhered around the leaves and the embossed sentiment was placed on the top section.

CD 667 - Woven Hello

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 667!

I used all four colours for my card.

I cut thin strips of each of the four colours, wove them into a rectangle and placed a black stitched frame on top. That was adhered to silver glitter paper and white cardstock. I embossed a black base with a 3D basket weave embossing folder and angled the woven panel before adhering it. The sentiment was die cut and placed on the woven section - and it IS even with the top and bottom of the card! It's harder to see since I angled the card for photography purposes. A few silver gems were added around the sentiment.
