MTTC 566 - Sending Hugs Shaker Card

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 566!

The theme for this challenge is to use a clear element (acetate, vellum clear gems, etc.) 

I chose to use acetate to make a shaker card. Some of the sequins inside the shaker are also clear so that was a bonus! 

I hot foiled a press plate and used the coordinating stencils to colour the image. A rectangle die was used to cut out the centre of the panel. That centre piece was adhered to the card base and I added blue, green and clear sequins inside. The outline was adhered with foam tape on top of the acetate, sealing the shaker section closed. I placed a gold foiled sentiment on the front.

MTTC 565 - Find Beauty

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 565!

The theme for this challenge is to use AT LEAST two patterned papers. 

I chose two black and white papers so I could add colour with the images. The papers were matted with black cardstock and adhered to a splattered card base. The floral images were die cut and arranged at the side of the sentiment. I also added a black glitter bow. The centres of the flowers were enhanced with Stickles in black, silver and clear.

MTTC 564 - Birthday Wishes

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 564!

The theme for this challenge is to use fibre (twine, fabric, ribbon, etc.)

I chose some old white twine/ribbon from my stash. On a piece of purple cardstock, I attached strips of the fibre using scor-tape. The white front was die cut and I cut a smaller rectangle using stitched dies. Several leaf images were die cut and stacked together to build strength. Those were adhered around the edge of the frame to allow them to show through on the front. Much foam tape later, the leafy front was adhered to purple cardstock so the fibre shows through. I adhered the front to a purple mat and then a white card base. The sentiment was embossed in white and adhered to the left of the rectangular opening.

MTTC 563 - With Love Heart Shaker

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 563!

The theme for this challenge is to make a heart shaped card. 

I made a very small card as I used dies and heart dies are only so big! 

I stencilled the background and turned the heart into a shaker. The sentiment was added to the front and I used silver and clear sequins inside the heart. Easy! This could be used as a small card for a gift or the like.

MTTC 562 - Great Friend

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 562!

The theme for this challenge is to make an oval shaped card. 

I chose a colour scheme of turquoise and grey. I die cut ovals in white and turquoise and layered them together. The top layer was also lightly stencilled in grey. I foiled the images (laminate foiling) and the sentiment (hot foil) and the images were stencilled and added above the sentiment. Some clear gems were placed around the card.

MTTC 561 - Arch Birthday Card

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 561!

The theme for this challenge is to make an arch shaped card. 

I used an arch die set and die cut the largest arch twice to create a shaped card. I stamped an inner frame and blended yellow ink in the opposite corners. The floral images were stamped, stencilled and die cut and arranged around the stamped arch outline. I stamped and die cut a two part sentiment, added gold metallic thread behind those pieces and placed some gold gems on the front.

MTTC 560 - Lovely Day Floral Frame Card

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 560!

The theme for this challenge is to make a square card. 

I prefer 6x6 cards when I make square cards. I splattered a white card base with gold paint and die cut all sorts of flowers and leaves from purple and green cardstock. The sentiment was stamped and die cut using a stitched square frame and I die cut a second stitched frame which was added behind the sentiment with foam tape with a piece of green cardstock in between. The flowers were arranged behind the frame and some gold gems were added around the outside of the flowers.

MTTC 559 - Glorious Day Tag Card

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 559!

The theme for this challenge is to make a giant dog-ear shaped tag. 

I made my tag into a card so it stands up for display. 

The background was stencilled in grey and I stamped, stencilled and die cut a set of flowers. That image was added to the front after I created the tag shape. A stamped sentiment was placed at the bottom and a silver and white bow was added across the card. Silver glitter gems were placed around the tag.

MTTC 558 - Find Beauty

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 558!

The theme for this challenge is to make a circle card. 

I have had this oceanscape die for ages... I inked several pieces of white cardstock with a variety of Distress Oxide inks, cut out the various sections and pieced them together. The entire inked front was adhered to black cardstock and I stamped a sentiment for the front.

MTTC 557 - Just a Note Flowers

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 557!

The theme for this challenge is to create a RECTANGLE shaped card. 

I almost always make my cards in a rectangular shape so this was easy! I chose a floral theme. 

The black background was embossed with a bamboo 3D embossing folder. The flowers and leaves were die cut from various colours of cardstock and arranged on the front. I added a silver hot foiled sentiment and placed coloured gems on the flowers. Clear dew drops were added around the card.

MTTC 556 - You're Pretty Amazing

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 556!

The theme of this challenge is to celebrate someone - that could be for a birthday, retirement or just because. 

I pulled out a set of dies that I haven't used in ages. The drink glass has a scene inside (all pieces were inked) and I die cut several of the glass shapes to layer them together for the purpose of a shaker card. The background was embossed on glitter holographic paper and I added additional pieces at the top of the glass and around the stem as well.

MTTC 555 - Lucky Friend

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 555!

The theme for this challenge is to use shamrocks. 

I created a shamrock image on my Cricut and cut out the pieces. I inked the green stems and coloured the flowers with a Copic marker. I die cut two oval frames and layered an open dark green one with a lattice die cut behind that on top of a larger peach frame. The background was embossed with a leaf folder and everything was adhered to that piece and then to a white card base. The sentiment was stamped, die cut and added with foam tape and gold metallic thread. I placed several gold gems around the card as well.

MTTC 554 - Wonderful Day Leaves

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 554!

The theme for this challenge is 3-2-1. Choose 3 of something, 2 of something and 1 of something. Please IDENTIFY YOUR CHOICES in your post. 

I chose 3 dies, 2 layers and 1 sentiment. 

The sentiment was stamped and die cut using a stitched rectangle die (die #1). I adhered that to a larger stitched rectangle (die #2) and arranged the leaf images (die #3) around the outside. The leaf images and the sentiment form one layer and I adhered all of that to the card base using craft foam (layer #2). I purposely kept this card simple as the rainbow of colours is already fairly busy.

MTTC 553 - Hearts and Hugs

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 553!

The theme for this challenge is hearts. 

I chose a different colour scheme for a heart (Valentine) card. I used a heart stencil and Solar Paste in both teal and purple and added the paste across the stencil, using purple in the centre and teal along the edges. The heart image was embossed along with a sentiment. I layered the heart panel onto three cardstock layers to bring out the colours and added a strip of glitter across the bottom.

MTTC 552 - Cottage Scene

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 552!

The theme for this challenge is masculine. 

I always struggle with masculine cards - I don't have a lot of them to make so it's not my first choice when I create. 

This scene is one of my favourites. The background was die cut which added raised details to the piece. I used the coordinating stencils and several colours of Distress Oxide inks to colour the scene. A white gel pen was used to add details to the mountains and I used clear glitter gel over the water to make it shimmer. The piece was trimmed down and added to a 6x6 card base. I die cut the pieces to make the cottage and the canoe and arranged them on the scene. A birthday sentiment was stamped and added at the top. I used a grey marker to doodle a line around the entire card.

MTTC 551 - Smile!

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 551!

The theme for this challenge is to add a sentiment. 

I chose to use a large sentiment as the focal point for my card.

The background was stencilled with three colours of Distress Oxide inks and I used clear glitter paste for the second layer to add details to the leaves. Once that was dry, the layered SMILE sentiment was added with foam tape and a smaller sentiment was placed underneath. I ran two pieces of twine across the card to set off the smaller piece. Some iridescent gems were placed around the card.

MTTC 550 - Pink Flower Hugs

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 550! 

The theme for this challenge is something new in your stash. 

This is a fun challenge - there are always new items that I want and sometimes I need the incentive to use them more often! I'm sure I am not alone...

I chose a few items new to me - a background die, silver shimmer paint and a new stamp, stencil and die set. 

I love creating with florals so I stamped, stencilled and die cut that pretty pink flower. The background was lightly ink blended in pink and I splattered silver paint in the lower left corner. The light turquoise die cut piece was adhered on top of that and I added silver metallic thread under the flower before placing it at the bottom left. I raised the sentiment with foam tape and added clear gems on and around the flower.

MTTC 549 - A Frosty Hello

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 549!

The theme for this challenge is snow. 

We get a lot of snow where I live so snowmen are often found in yards and parks. I chose a snowman theme for my card. 

I masked the moon and inked the background with shades of blue and dark purple. The area around the moon was then masked and I added some light grey ink lines onto the moon. That piece was embossed and I used clear Stickles on all the snowflakes. The white glitter base was fussy cut and adhered to the bottom of the card. The snowmen were stamped, coloured and die cut and added to the card front with from tape. A small sentiment was placed at the bottom.

MTTC 548 - Rainbow Tag

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 548!

The theme for this challenge is anything but a card. 

I chose to make a tag and this was simple and easy! I stencilled the image onto white cardstock using eight Distress Oxide inks and die cut the top using a scalloped die. I used the same die to cut a piece of holographic paper and lined up the pieces at the top before cutting the rest of the outline A small sentiment was stamped across the bottom and some white ribbon was threaded through the hole at the top. I used some Liquid Pearls to add dots of the same colours around the image.

CIU 317 and MTTC 547 - Grateful for All You Do

 Welcome to two challenges - Cut It Up Challenge 317 and My Time to Craft Challenge 547!

Since both of these challenges were being posted the same day, I thought I would combine them as the themes were easy to integrate. 

The theme for Cut it Up is to use your favourite colour. 

The theme for My Time to Craft is thank you. 

I chose to make my card in turquoise, silver and grey. The background was hot foiled with a striped foil plate and that was die cut using a stitched rectangle. The cardstock was die cut with a hexagon shape and I also hot foiled the sentiment. The image was stamped and die cut twice (stacked) before being offset on a piece of vellum. The sentiment was added across the bottom and I added some silver gems in the centres of the flowers and around the card.
