A fun card making blog
These are the remaining sets of cards that were created for the CARE-ing team at my church. I love that these cards brighten the days of others and that's why I continue to support this initiative.
The first set was stencilled and the sentiments were stamped in the centre. I also dry embossed a line around the card front. The second set was stamped and coloured before the heat embossed sentiments were added.

I make cards for the CARE-ing team at my church - they send them to others who have lost someone close, are ill or just haven't been to church in a while.
These two pics are two sets of cards that I recently made for them. One is based on a design from a recent virtual event and the other is from a design I found online (all 6 at the bottom are the same).

I made one of these cards a while ago (found on Iced Images' YouTube channel) and I remade it but in a much darker colour scheme.
Some people would say that black should not be part of Christmas but it is so elegant paired with green and gold on this card. I chose to put two stands of ribbon around the front and I used gold foil and glitter for the decorative stars. The card folds flat for mailing and there is a place on the back to write a message.

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 178 and Atlantic Hearts Challenge 601!
This is Double Trouble's "Something, Anything, Everything" week and the challenge I am pairing with is Sketch 601 from Atlantic Hearts.

I chose to use hot drinks for my card. What is more representative of autumn than apple cider or a pumpkin spice drink?
I die cut each of the drink images along with several leaves and inked them for dimension. The woodgrain background was torn at the top and bottom and I light inked a circle before adding it to the right side. The drinks, leaves and sentiment were adhered and a ribbon was also added under everything. Some gold gems were placed on the leaves and around the sentiment.

This is the final set of cards from the Pinkfresh Studio holiday card event. There are 12 additional cards to make but I haven't had the time to get to those yet...
These two cards focus on a set of greenery dies. The first one has a masked jar with the greenery at the side - I love it!
The second card used the same greenery that was inked in varying shades of green. White pieces and berries were added around the wreath.

This is the third set of cards from the Pinkfresh Studio holiday card event.
Simon Says Stamp was a partner for this event and the gingerbread house is their stamp, as are the little penguins. The original card for the house had the image left in black and white but I chose to colour the house to make it look more like a true gingerbread house.
The penguins were masked inside the jar and the sky was ink blended. I love the jar as a shaker - such a cute idea!

I subscribe to Let's Stamp Together (run by Scrapbook and Cards) and every second month, a kit arrives in the mail. There is always a two hour class with the instructor who designed the kit and this time it was created by LDRS Creative.
The cards are so pretty - the floral image has so many possibilities! Stencils make it easy to colour and there were some neat ideas presented as well.
These are my three cards but I will definitely be revisiting this set of products again!

Welcome to My Time to Craft Christmas Challenge 98!
The theme for this challenge is winter animals.
Polar bears are the perfect winter animal and I pulled out one of my favourite old stamps for this challenge.
The bears were stamped and coloured. I chose a circle frame slimline die to use for the outline and inked that with turquoise Distress Oxide inks, splattered it with water a then with white paint. The sentiment was embossed in black and placed across the card front. The polar bear images were arranged under the frame and I added artificial snow inside each window to make this a shaker card. The front was adhered to a white mat and then a black card base.

Here are more cards from the recent Pinkfresh Studio holiday card event.
The first class was about using smaller images to create a sort of scene. The first card has such a neat surprise inside!
The other two cards were made using cookie images and a cookie jar die - one is a shaped card and the other is a gatefold card with a wreath on the font, using several of the cookie images.

I recently participated in the Pinkfresh Studio holiday card event and there were some fabulous cards made during that two day event.
I have not finished all of them yet - am trying to find the time to watch the classes and do the extra cards as well.
Here are the cards from two of the classes. The poinsettia arch is so pretty and I love the different ways it was used. The dark green background card has a piece of acetate on the top where the sentiments were heat embossed. The fun fold card was done by Jennifer McGuire and it's so pretty in real life. The last one was paper pieced and cut into a tree shape which stands up nicely on its own.

Welcome to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 600!
I chose to use a honeycomb stencil for the top of my card. I cut a thin strip and the bow from black glitter paper and they were adhered just under the honeycomb stencilling. I stamped, coloured and die cut three bees and added them around the bow. A small sentiment was stamped at the bottom and I added clear Stickles to the wings of the bees.

Welcome to Sketch Saturday Challenge 762!
The optional theme (in addition to the sketch) is to use ribbon.
This is a traditional Christmas card - red and green. I arranged the green cardstock strips along the left side and adhered them to a red snowflake background. The moose was stamped, coloured and die cut with an oval die. I stamped and embossed the sentiment and added that off to the right side. Googly eyes were added to the moose and I used clear Stickles on his collar.

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 623!
Choose at least three colours from the inspiration photo shown below.
I chose shades of blue (x3) plus red.
The background was die cut from dark blue cardstock and adhered to a lighter blue piece. I added several thin strips of cardstock on an angle and adhered the sentiment at the bottom. The poinsettias were arranged above the sentiment and some iridescent gems were placed around the card.

Welcome to Cut It Up October challenge!
The theme for this challenge is to add embellishments.
I am heavily into making Christmas cards so I chose to make a traditional holiday card.
The background and the frame were die cut from white cardstock and adhered together. I die cut all the poinsettia and branch pieces from white cardstock and inked them. I stencilled the sentiments and die cut them as well. Once everything was arranged, I added red Stickles to the berries and several gold gems around the card.

Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 545!
The theme for this challenge is monochromatic (one colour).
I chose to use blue for my card. This card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest.
I die cut a rectangle from masking paper and placed that on the card front. Blue ink was gradually added to build up colour in the corner, getting lighter toward the edges. The masking paper was removed and I stamped a silhouette image and a sentiment. I chose a coordinating cardstock colour for the border before adhering that to the card base. Some clear gems were added to finish off this card.
