Stencilled Scene Cards

This set of cards was created using a horizon stencil from SimonSays Stamp. I originally ordered the stencil and then realized I needed the coordinating stamp set to stamp images that were size-appropriate for the backgrounds.

These cards were all CASEd from ones made by Kristina Werner. I wasn't sure where to start with this stencil so it was easiest to try some already made ideas to start. I will be revisiting this stencil and stamp combo again to make more of these neat cards!

Enjoy,

CD 513 - Inlaid Flower Card

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 513!

Choose at least three colours from the grid above - black, white, gold and silver are free to use.

I spent a LOT of time creating this mini slimline card - all the coloured pieces were inlaid into the black outline. I die cut the image in black, yellow, orange, green and turquoise and removed the pieces I needed to "fill in the blanks". Each little piece was glued in place. I added a white background, then a yellow border and finally adhered all of that to a black card base. The sentiment was stamped and placed across the image. The last step was to add some gold gems around the card.

Come and join us at Colour Dare and show us how you use the colour grid shown above.

You have two weeks to link up your project.

We can't wait to see what you create!

Butterfly Card Set

As many of my readers know, I make sets of cards to take to my medical appointments and give to other patients. They are always so grateful to receive a gift like that.

This is a set of 12 cards - all the same design but in a rainbow of colours. There are various sentiments for many occasions but the design is the same for each card.

Enjoy,

Make the Cards Challenge 63 - Ah, Autumn

Welcome to Make the Cards Challenge 63!

It's all about fall/autumn for this challenge.

I began by stamping several pumpkins and colouring them. They were fussy cut. The patterned paper background was adhered to a piece of printer paper and then I die cut a circle from that piece. I also die cut a thin circle border to enhance the opening. The cut away section was inked with three Distress Oxide inks and splattered with water. The card front was adhered to the base and I added the pumpkins (one with gold ribbon underneath) and the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment with three colours and adhered it to a gold border. The last step was to add some orange enamel gems around the card.

Come and join us at Make the Cards and show us how you interpret this fall theme.

Thinking of You

This card style was taught in an online event that I recently finished. I used a background die that doesn't quite touch the edges of the card.

The backgound was die cut from white cardstock and then cut into three sections. Some of the edges were trimmed to allow openings when it was pieced back together. Each section was inked with a Distress Oxide ink and placed back on the card base. I die cut a leaf image three times and stacked it before adding it to the front. The sentiment was hot foiled in silver and added beside the greenery. Some clear gems were added to finish off the card.

Enjoy,

DT 120 - You're Awesome Yellow Flowers

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 120!

It's a 3-2-1 week... use 3 colours, 2 embellishments and 1 stamped (or digital) image. The small graphic is below - please check the Double Trouble website for more information.

I used the colours provided in our partner challenge's post - jade, yellow and brown. The flowers and leaves were stencilled and die cut. There is a circular background at the top of the card and that was die cut in white and I added the centre green circle and inlaid the small green pieces. A piece of brown patterned paper was adhered to the card base and the sentiment was stamped and die cut with a stitched rectangle die. I added some brown twine and light brown embellishments to finish off the card.

Come and join us at Double Trouble and show us how you interpret this week's challenge.

You have two weeks to link up your project.

I am also linking up my card with the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge 552 (use the colours shown in the image).

HLS - Christmas Dove

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge!

The theme is always Anything Goes - the optional element is to use metallics.

I chose a blue and silver colour combination for my card. The hanging frame along with the dove and leaves were embossed in silver and I coloured the leaves and the dove with a very light grey and shades of blue before die cutting them. The background was splattered with white paint and I also added some white Liquid Pearls. A sentiment was added at the bottom and I added a dark blue border around the silver border before adhering all of that to the card base with craft foam.

Come and join us at Happy Little Stampers and show us your Christmas projects.

You have until the end of September to link up your project.

Birthday Flower Trio

This clean and simple card is so sweet - I just love it.

The image is one from a Gina K. Designs stamp set and I stamped it three times in different colours. Each piece was trimmed the same way and then adhered to the same white cardstock background. I embossed a piece of the same cardstock with a woodgrain pattern and lined up the stamped images. The card front was attached to a card base with craft foam. The sentiment was added across the bottom and a gem was placed on each side of the sentiment.

Enjoy,

Alyson

Happy Little Stampers Birthday Challenge - Never Ending Card

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers Birthday Challenge! This is my first project as a new member of their Birthday Design Team!

It's always Anything Goes for this challenge, as long as the theme is birthday.

I created a Never Ending Card. This card folds back on itself four times to reveal a different panel each time. I used patterned papers that I have had for a while to decorate the panels. Since the card folds onto itself each time, bulky embellishments are not a wise idea - I just used Stickles and a clear shimmer brush to add a bit of interest to each framed image. I also left the side panels with just the papers and focused on the centre panels for the images and sentiments.

Two of the images have birthday greetings and the others have stamped and coloured flowers to match the papers. The second panel (the striped pieces), when folded flat, reveals part of the next panel so I used that spot to add my greeting pieces (on panel 3) as I was able to prevent them from showing. They are small but since the card already has two stamped birthday greetings, I won't have much to write anyways. The finished size is 6x6 - and it's flat for mailing.

Birthday Circles Card

I saw an idea like this on Pinterest and figured I had similar enough products to try it myself.

The circle die was cut three times and stacked. I purposely cut it longer than what I needed so I could trim the edges. The left side from the circle die cut was also saved and stacked three times. Those white pieces were lined up on a piece of patterned paper and trimmed at the edges. That piece was adhered to a black card front and then to a white card base. The sentiment was stamped, a border was added and I used cardstock to stack on the back so it would sit even with the circle die cut. I added a few stars in the circles to finish off the card.

Enjoy,
