Washi Tape Card Sets

 I recently purchased three rolls of washi tape and when it is layered, it creates beautiful images. At a recent crop, I completed 64 cards using this product (yep - 64!) to make 8 sets of 8 cards each. 

Each of the cards has a washi tape image on the front which was matted on coordinating cardstock. There is an embossed panel mounted to a coloured piece and then to the card base. The image was placed at the top and I added a gold foiled sentiment at the bottom. Cutting the paper and embossing took the longest time - once that was done, the assembly was quick and easy.

Sunflower Sunshine

 I have seen so many cards made with this bubble die from Memory Box... finally got it for myself. 

The background was die cut with the bubble die, which leaves a dotted impression instead of cutting all the way through. I inked that panel with light purple ink and added an array of washi tape sunflowers to the centre. The sentiment was hot foiled in gold and adhered to gold foil cardstock. The entire panel was adhered to the card base with craft foam and I added a few gold sequins around the image.

DT 125 - Sunflower Friends

 Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 125!

The colours of sunflowers - a perfect match for this week's challenge...

There is a lot happening on this card - hot foiling, ink bending, die cutting, washi tape - the list goes on. 

I started with a gold hot foiled background and cut a piece of patterned paper with similar shades of green to those in the sunflowers. The centre piece was ink blended with three Distress Oxide inks and splattered with water. I added a gold ribbon at the bottom of that piece and then placed the white circle die cut with the stamped sentiment to the right of the papers. The sunflowers are actually washi tape images that were die cut and added along the left side of the circle. A few gold glitter gems finished off my card.

MTC 64 - Sunflower Smiles

 Welcome to Make the Cards Challenge 64!

The challenge this week is to use washi tape on a card. 

Initially, I thought of washi tape on a small roll - the same tape that I often use to hold dies in place. It occurred to me that there is much better washi tape out there now - tape with detailed images that can be die cut. I decide to use a set of washi tape sunflowers for my card. 

I found various patterned papers that were the same colours as the flowers for the four panels. A brown cross piece with a strip of gold glitter paper was added just above the centre line. I adhered the washi tape sunflower images and added a stamped sentiment under one of the leaves. Some gold metallic thread and gold sequins were added to finish off the card.

Sunflowers with Woven Background

 This pretty card was made with a few dies and the Sunflower washi tape from Pinkfresh Studio. 

The background was die cut with a stitched leaf die and then a hexagon was cut from the centre. I also die cut a thin border of the same hexagon shape from gold glitter paper and that was adhered to the leafy front. Inside the frame, a basket weave die was cut and I wove pieces of lilac cardstock through the openings. The front was adhered on top with foam tape and I also added a stitched rectangle. The sunflower pieces were adhered on top of the open frame, along with a foiled sentiment. The last step was to add some champagne gems around the card.

Double Side Step Card

 The Pinkfresh Studio Whimsical Blooms washi tape was perfect for this card! 

I die cut two sets of the washi tape images and cut and scored the card base. I added a cardstock border and patterned paper before adhering the flower images to the card. The sentiment was stamped in the same shade of purple as the flowers and I added Stickles to each of the flower centres. 

There is another washi tape floral image inside the card along with a sentiment.

Friends Slimline Shaker Card

This is such a neat idea for not only a slimline shaker, but also for long washi tape! 

Pinkfresh Studio makes the most beautiful washi tape in 4" wide rolls. Each roll has about 50 repetitions of the design and there are dies available to cut out the images. In this case, I used a full section of washi tape without die cutting the individual images. 

The base cardstock with the sunflower washi tape adhered was die cut using a blanket stitched slimline die. I used the letters to spell the word "friend" and cut them out of the panel. I saved the inside letter pieces for the D and R. Acetate was adhered to the back of the panel and then I sectioned off each letter with foam tape. I added some white "snow" and gold star confetti before closing up the back with purple cardstock. That piece was adhered to a purple cardstock layer and then to the white card base. I didn't add anything else to this card - it was pretty enough on its own. The photograph doesn't show the beautiful gold foiling detail around the images.

Sunflower Thinking of You

 These gorgeous sunflower images are actually washi tape -yes, washi tape! The tape comes on a 4" wide roll and there is a die to cut out the images. Each roll has approx. 50 repetitions of the images. 

The background was die cut from light purple cardstock and backed with a darker shade of purple. The hexagons were hot foiled in gold and adhered with foam tape. I arranged the sunflower images around the hexagons and placed the dark brown foiled sentiment across the centre. Some gold gems were added but the gold outline on the sunflower and leaf images certainly bring this card to life!
