DT 179 - Thankful Leaf Cluster

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 179!

The small graphic is below. Please visit the Double Trouble Challenge Blog for detailed information.

We are pairing with The Inspiration Station Challenge and they have a photo for us.

I was inspired by the leaves, the colours and the woodgrain in the inspiration photo. There are several layers on my card design - at least 8, if not more.

I began by inking the card base from yellow to red along the edges. The leaves were die cut from white, gold and gold holographic cardstock and the white pieces were inked with Distress Oxide inks. I splattered gold paint on the top half of the card front and arranged the leaves just above a sentiment strip. Some twine was added across the card and I tied a bow at the side. A few gold gems were also placed around the card to finish it off.

DT 163 - Change the World

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 163!

Kraft and blue - the small graphic is below. Please visit the Double Trouble Challenge Blog for detailed information.

We are pairing with The Inspiration Station Challenge - this is their inspiration photo.

As soon as I saw the inspiration picture, I knew which stamp I wanted to use. This beautiful world stamp with flowers at the top was perfect. I stamped the image and coloured it before die cutting it. I also stamped a sentiment for the bottom. The Kraft paper was embossed with a 3D embossing folder and I added a thin strip of glitter paper along each side before adhering that piece to the card base. I added various colours of Stickles to the centres of the flowers to finish off the card.

DT 147 - When I Count My Blessings...

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 147!

The theme for this challenge is to use colours from the photo. Please visit the Double Trouble Challenge blog for detailed information.

I used a variety of autumn colours for my card. I ink blended a background using red, orange and yellow inks, splattered it with water and then die cut the background from that piece. I stamped lots of small images and coloured them using the colours from the photo. The pumpkins were stamped, coloured and fussy cut and I arranged them across the third row on the card front. The sentiment was cut into smaller pieces and adhered under the smallest pumpkin. The entire card front was adhered to a black card base.

DT 133 - Birthday Plaid

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 133!

This week, it's all about green and plaid. The small graphic is below - please visit the Double Trouble Challenge Blog for detailed information.

I ink blended a background using three shades of green Distress Oxide inks and splattered it with water. A diagonal die was cut twice and one piece was flipped over to create a plaid pattern. That was adhered over the green background. I blended another green background and added a gold foiled diamond around that plus two more smaller gold foiled diamonds in the corners. The leaves were arranged to come out from around the larger diamond. The sentiment was die cut from two shades of green and I added some gold gems around the card to finish it off.

DT 125 - Sunflower Friends

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 125!

The colours of sunflowers - a perfect match for this week's challenge...

The small graphic is below. Please visit the Double Trouble Challenge Blog for detailed information.

There is a lot happening on this card - hot foiling, ink bending, die cutting, washi tape - the list goes on.

I started with a gold hot foiled background and cut a piece of patterned paper with similar shades of green to those in the sunflowers. The centre piece was ink blended with three Distress Oxide inks and splattered with water. I added a gold ribbon at the bottom of that piece and then placed the white circle die cut with the stamped sentiment to the right of the papers. The sunflowers are actually washi tape images that were die cut and added along the left side of the circle. A few gold glitter gems finished off my card.

DT 103 - Sending You a Big Hug

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 103!

The small graphic is below. Please visit the Double Trouble Challenge Blog for detailed information about this challenge.

I chose to use pink, purple, mint and yellow from the colours in the image. I stamped a long floral image and coloured it using those same colours. I carefully die cut around that image with a stitched rectangle die so there would be an even edge on all four sides (and then I covered the bottom edge... 🙄) The border was die cut in mint and I added a piece of bold pink cardstock underneath. The tiny hearts were the leftover pieces from the border die cut and they were placed around the top section of the card. I brushed the yellow sections of the flowers with a yellow shimmer brush.
