Envelope Stamped Background Card

I saw a card with a background like this on Pinterest and wanted try it myself.

After digging through my stash of stamps, I found a small envelope image. I stamped that on an angle across an entire background and then coloured the envelope images with markers. I die cut a black circle, a white envelope and tons of coloured floral and leaf images. The images were arranged in the envelope and that entire piece was adhered to the envelope background. I added a sentiment and mounted the background onto black cardstock and then a white card base. I love the final card!

Pop-Out Panel Card - Thankful for a Friend Like You

This cute card is very easy to make. I chose a colour scheme of blue and green.

The patterned papers have beautiful subtle floral patterns on them with varying shades of blue on the back. I chose to use the floral patterns for the outside panels and the blue patterns for the centre and the front sections. The images were stamped and die cut and I arranged a floral cluster on the left side and used a couple of the images to go behind the sentiment on the right side. Some gold metallic thread was added to each panel as well. There is a panel on the back for a message and the card folds flat for mailing.

Card Set - A Note from Me to You

This very simple set of cards is great for any occasion and also works for masculine cards.

Each card was created using the Better Press system and I used a variety of ink colours. The front panel was cut down and placed on a coordinating cardstock back. No embellishments were added so these are flat for mailing.

DD August - Birthday Dragonfly

Welcome to August's Dragonfly Dreams Challenge!

The theme for this month's challenge is dragonflies.

I have only one stamp with a dragonfly so that drove my card design. I stamped that image, coloured it with a rainbow of colours and fussy cut it. I chose a rainbow hot foiled background and die cut an oval and a scalloped border on which to adhere the dragonfly image. I inked the edges of the the inside oval with turquoise ink. Some gold gems were placed around the dragonfly and I added a birthday sentiment at the bottom.

Come and join us at Dragonfly Dreams and show us your dragonfly creations.

You have until the end of the month to link up your project.

We can’t wait to see what you create!

More Better Press Cards

I have played at length with the Better Press system and I wish I could say I loved it... but I have been having a lot of issues getting good results. I am hoping that some troubleshooting and practice will make it easier.

These two cards were made with images that turned out ok - the colouring helps to hide the fuzziness. The first one was simply coloured and matted with two colours. A small sentiment was added along with some gold Stickles.

For the second card, I coloured the flowers and then I used a black marker to colour the entire background. I die cut out the sentiment section and white heat embossed a different sentiment. That, along with the butterfly, were placed back into the card opening.

HLS Christmas - Have Your Elf a Merry Christmas

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers - Christmas Challenge!

This is always an anything goes challenge for Christmas but the optional theme this month is "elf".

I pulled out a set of elf dies and went to work die cutting and assembling the smallest pieces ever! Once the elf was assembled, I used a stencil for the background and inked that with two shades each of red and green. I applied a clear glitter gel over top and set it aside to dry. The ovals were die cut and I added green ink around the edges. The elf was adhered to the oval and I stamped and added a punny sentiment at the bottom. Some clear sequins were placed around the elf image to finish off this card.

MTTCC 66 - Behold!

Welcome to My Time to Craft - Christmas Challenge 66!

The theme for this challenge is to use angels or fairies.

I have just one stamp with an angel in it... I used that, along with a large sentiment to create a very simple card.

The angel and the cloud image were stamped and coloured and I embossed the sentiment in gold. I inked around the edges of the card front and adhered it to a black border and then to a matte gold base. Clear Stickles were brushed on the angel's wing but no other embellishments were added to this card.

Come and join us at MTTCC and show us your Christmas cards with angels or fairies.

Quad Stencilled Birthday Cards

The background for this set of cards was stencilled using a Create in Quads stencil from Taylored Expressions. I added clear shimmer over the purple layer. Once that was dry, I cut the stencilled piece into four card fronts and stamped a birthday sentiment for each. I used a green cardstock base for each card and the same colour of cardstock for the border piece around each sentiment. Easy!

Enjoy,

HLS Birthday - Time to Celebrate

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers Birthday Challenge where it is always anything goes with a birthday theme.

This card has more detail on it than what you see at first glance.

The background was die cut with a stitched coverplate die and I die cut a second piece in white. That piece was cut to fit in the centre of the background but also arranged so the pattern would line up. I added a piece of white cardstock behind the white die cut piece and adhered that to the base with craft foam. The flower was stamped, stencilled and die cut and added to the white die cut background. I placed a hot foiled sentiment across the bottom and tucked the edge under the flower stem. Some gold glitter gems were added and I also added some clear Stills on the links of the flowers to finish off this pretty card.

Come and join us at HLS Birthday and show us how you interpret this challenge.

TSOT 618 - Leafy Smiles

Welcome to Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge 618!

It's an either/or challenge this week - choose the technique (slimline card), the sketch or both!

I chose to use both options. I embossed a piece of white cardstock with a 3D leaf embossing folder. The circles were die cut from silver foil and I also cut a white insert for each. The blue flowers were die cut and arranged inside the circles. The sentiment was stamped and added at the bottom of the largest circle and I adhered the embossed piece to dark blue cardstock. I coloured some clear gens with a dark blue marker and added them around the circles.

Come and join us at TSOT and show us how you interpret this week's challenge.
