Double Side Step Card

The Pinkfresh Studio Whimsical Blooms washi tape was perfect for this card!

I die cut two sets of the washi tape images and cut and scored the card base. I added a cardstock border and patterned paper before adhering the flower images to the card. The sentiment was stamped in the same shade of purple as the flowers and I added Stickles to each of the flower centres.

There is another washi tape floral image inside the card along with a sentiment.

Multi-Coloured Leaf Card

The leaf image was created using stamping foam and a die - three shades of ink were used to ink up the foam and stamp it on white cardstock.

I embossed the white background with a leaf embossing folder and die cut three scalloped frames from cardstock that matched the inks. The inside frames were offset and I stamped a sentiment in two colours to go across the bottom. I added a twine bow and some iridescent gems to finish off the card.

Enjoy,

Pink and Purple Roses Card

The background for this card was created using stamping foam but I used actually stamps to press into the foam which gave me the reverse image of the flowers. The stamp parts remained white and the background was coloured.

I used three shades of pink and purple inks to ink up the foam and then stamped it on white cardstock. I die cut three blanket stitched frames and placed them around the edges. A thin sentiment was stamped and added at the bottom and I stamped three extra roses and a butterfly in black and coloured them with markers before fussy cutting them. Some purple gems were added around the floral cluster to finish off the card.

Triple Diamond Card - Your Friendship...

This adorable fun fold card was created using the Watercolour Floral papers and ephemera from Gina K. Designs. This particular kit has been hard to order as it sells out so fast each time it comes back in stock!

I used dark grey cardstock for the base and the diamonds and pattered paper for most of the other sections. The front green piece was inked with two shades of green. I used the ephemera from the kit for the flowers on the front and stamped a sentiment in the corner of the diamond. I added some clear Stickles to the flower centres but avoided other embellishments so the card folds flat for mailing. There is a panel on the back to write a message.

Vellum Leaf Card

The green leafy branch for this card was cut on my Cricut, along with the same shape in vellum. I inked the base of each leaf with green ink and then splattered the image with white paint mixed with water before adhering it to the card front. The vellum leaf was trimmed to a smaller size and adhered offset to the green branch. I die cut the word "hello" and added it over the vellum along with a small strip of grey patterned paper. A piece of green twine was placed where the branches met at the top and some clear gems were added around the card.

I did find a similar card on Facebook but there wasn't a watermark on the card so I am not sure who originally came up with this idea...

TSOT 563 - Woodgrain Birthday

Welcome to Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge 563!

The optional theme this week is a trio of textures.

I used both the sketch and the optional theme.

The woodgrain background was created by embossing the three panels with a 3-D woodgrain embossing folder and then rubbing the same colour of ink over top to enhance the pattern. I added cardstock strips behind the pieces to raise them slightly. I stamped a present and balloons and they were coloured in the same colours as the cardstock. I added a gold foiled sentiment with some gold metallic thread underneath and some gold sequins were added to finish off the card.

Come and join us at TSOT and show us how you interpret the sketch shown above.

You have two weeks to link up your project.

We can’t wait to see what you create!

AH 480 - You are Amazing

Welcome to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 480!

I chose to stay close to the sketch but there is a LOT happening on my card.

The left background was created using Distress Oxide inks, a stencil and silver glitter paste. The right side (bottom) was created using alcohol inks. The two pieces were cut diagonally and I added strip of silver glitter paper to define the sections. That same glitter paper was die cut to form a border for the card.

The centre leaf image was die cut from silver foil and placed on a die cut shape. The sentiment was embossed in silver and although it is hard to read in the photo, it is clear and easy to read in person. A few silver glitter gems were added around the card.

Come and join us at Atlantic Hearts and show us how you interpret the sketch shown above.

You have until Sunday evening to link up your project.

We can’t wait to see what you create!

CAS Coneflower Card

I saw this beautiful card on social media and CASEd it! The original creator was Jennifer Brum.

The coneflower was die cut and assembled. I splattered the card front with black paint mixed with water. The sentiment was stamped and die cut with a stitched circle- that was placed just under the flower. A few clear dew drops were added around the flower. Easy!

Single Step Card - Miss You

This is such a simple fun fold and I love the idea of an image in the back and a sentiment in the front.

I used a blue-toned woodgrain paper for the background - in hindsight, that probably wasn't the best choice since I used a woodgrain sign. The sign background was stamped and I dragged a brown and a light blue ink pad over top after scoring the lines to raise them. Several floral stems were stamped and die cut and I aded some of them to the sign. One stem was added to the sentiment at the front. Some gold liquid pearls were added around the card and there is a panel inside to write a message.

Enjoy,

DT 115 and CD 503 - Peace Poinsettia

Welcome to Double Trouble 115 and Colour Dare 503!

It's Christmas in July this week - the small graphic for Double Trouble and the grid for Colour Dare are both shown below.

The challenge at Double Trouble doesn't open until Monday so this is a sneak peek.

I chose the colour blocks of Candy Apple, Avocado, New England Ivy and Ballerina as well as the poinsettia image.

The poinsettias were stamped, stencilled using the four colours and die cut. I hot foiled a diamond shape and die cut that piece. That same diamond shape was cut from the stitched card front so the foiled diamond outline could be adhered with vellum behind it. I added some Ballerina ink on the right side of the card base and then stamped several holiday sentiments across the centre so they would show through the vellum. The poinsettia images were arranged along the left side and the word Peace was stamped at the bottom. I added some gold Stickles to the centres of the flowers and some gold gems around the card.

Since I am on both design teams for this challenge (Double Trouble and Colour Dare), my card will be linked to both challenges as a design team member.

You have two weeks to link up your project with both challenges.

We can't wait to see what you create!

Enjoy,
