DT 188 - Rainbow Easel Card

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 188!

The small graphic is below - please visit the Double Trouble Challenge Blog for detailed information.

I found a card similar to this one on Pinterest and it was perfect for this challenge so I changed mine to fit the parameters.

I used all the colours of the rainbow, three die cuts (two types of clouds and the rainbow) and created a scene.

The rainbow was stencilled and die cut. I die cut and arranged the large clouds to create the front of the card and the opening under the rainbow was also cut out. The large cloud pieces were stencilled with a raindrop stencil and I added a stamped sentiment (in rainbow colours) plus a pair of boots and an umbrella. On the lower panel, the sun was stencilled and I placed three clouds above the sun to hold the top of the easel in place.

Birthday Triangle Card

I have made this card style before but it fit perfectly for the parameters for a recent 30 Minute Card Making Stash and Dash.

The parameters for this challenge were as follows: Type of Card: standard A2 portrait, Colour(s): orange, Embellishment: triangle, Technique: embossing and Occasion: birthday or crafter's choice.

I heat embossed the floral images in black, coloured and die cut them. The triangles were die cut and arranged on the card front. The sentiments were stamped in the spaces and I adhered the flowers at the points of the triangles. Some gold gems were placed around the card.

Let's Celebrate Double Gate Accordion Fold Card

That title is a mouthful! I found this card on Facebook along with the measurements and created a birthday card with the design.

I chose a bold colour scheme of purple, yellow, green, blue, red and orange. The panels were all attached and I stamped, coloured a die cut a lot of images. The little mice are so adorable and I paired them with a balloon arrangement to make a birthday card. There is a panel on the back to write a message and I finished the back side as well.

CD 645 - Friend Flowers

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 645!

I used three of the four colours (not yellow) for my card.

I die cut a background from a detailed coverplate die and placed that on a white cardstock base. A gold frame was added on the base. The floral image was stamped, stencilled and I die cut the image three times and stacked them together. The sentiment was die cut from black cardstock along with a vellum shadow and added across the bottom of the card. Some gold gems were placed in the centres of the flowers.

MTTCC 109 - Christmas Blessings

Welcome to My Time to Craft Christmas Challenge 109!

The theme for this challenge is to use brads.

Most of us have brads in our stash... I only had a few left so I was lucky!

I chose an old holiday stamp and stamped the holly branches twice, one above the other. Layering stamps filled in the colours. I splattered the background with dark green paint and die cut it with a stitched rectangle die. The sentiment was stamped, stacked and adhered across the centre wth metallic thread underneath and I added two silver brads, one on each side.

AH 622 - Smile...

Welcome to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 622!

I stayed true to the sketch and used cardstock pieces that I tore at the top and bottom.

The background was created using Lindy's Magical Powders. It is very sparkly in real life but that's hard to capture in a photo. That was adhered a piece of silver foil cardstock. I tore five strips of cardstock and layered them across the centre. The sentiment was die cut from teal, purple and silver and added above a silver ribbon. A smaller sentiment was embossed and placed under the ribbon. A few silver gems were added around the card.

Pocket Card

This is a card created for the 30 Minute Card Making Stash Dash.

The parameters for this challenge were as follows: Type of card: pocket card, Colour(s): ombre, Element: triangle, Technique: colouring and Sentiment: thinking of you.

I used some pink ombre paper to create the front of the card and added light pink cardstock behind that to create the pocket. I added two scalloped borders and a gold ribbon across the bottom. The floral cluster was stamped, coloured and die cut. There is a pull out card with a sentiment stamped onto it.

Cut It Up 326 - Birthday Bouquet

Welcome to Cut It Up Challenge 326!

The theme for this challenge is the colours of spring. You do not have to make a spring-based project - just use colours that are associated with spring.

I pulled out a kit from a virtual event that I did a while ago. I love the floral bouquet and the large postage die. I stamped and embossed the image in green and used the coordinating stencils to colour the flowers. I stamped the small "birthday" at the bottom and die cut that piece with a postage die. The word "happy" was inked in an ombre style, stacked and added to a gold shadow. I splattered the entire panel with gold paint before adhering it to a green mat, a gold mat and finally a bold pink card base.

MTTC 556 - You're Pretty Amazing

Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 556!

The theme of this challenge is to celebrate someone - that could be for a birthday, retirement or just because.

I pulled out a set of dies that I haven't used in ages. The drink glass has a scene inside (all pieces were inked) and I die cut several of the glass shapes to layer them together for the purpose of a shaker card. The background was embossed on glitter holographic paper and I added additional pieces at the top of the glass and around the stem as well.

Cross Card

This pretty card was inspired by one made by Lynn Dunn.

The cross is the focal point and I added some fern die cuts and a flower in one corner. The card stands up nicely and there is a panel on the back to write a message.

Thinking of You Scene Card

This is such a cute and easy idea for a simple fun fold card.

A long piece of green cardstock was die cut only on the front with a tree opening. The scene was arranged to show through the trees and the inside panel can be lifted up to write a message. I added a sentiment and three iridescent butterflies to the front.

TSOT 666 - Row of Carnations

Welcome to Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge 666!

I chose to use a layering stamp to create the images for my card. The flowers, leaves and berries were stamped and die cut. I also die cut a floral background that I placed on the white card base. The images were lined up and the leaves and berries were added underneath. I used a hot foiled sentiment and placed some gol metallic thread under that. Gold gems were scattered around the card.

DT 187 - Triple Panel Floral Card

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 187!

This week, you can choose your own 3-2-1 recipe. Please be sure to identify the elements in your description. The small graphic is below - please visit the Double Trouble Challenge Blog for additional information.

My 3-2-1 recipe is as follows: 3 colours (blue, green, grey), 2 layers and 1 sentiment.

I foiled all the images and then stencilled and die cut them. The base layer is blue cardstock and I used a brick patterned paper for the second layer. The images were arranged on each panel, along with a place to write a message on the back panel. A hot foiled sentiment was placed across the front.

Smooshed Ink Cards

Ink smooshing is fun but it can be unpredictable. Perhaps that is what makes it a fun and unusual technique.

For these two cards, I used Catherine Pooler inks. The background for the first card was done using a large acrylic block. The ink was pushed onto a glass mat and water was added. I picked up the colour using a large block and pressed it onto white cardstock. The edges of the block were visible so I trimmed the card front down to remove those lines and added a die cut sentiment. Clear gems were placed around the card.

The second card was also ink smooshed but I used smaller blocks and created a random pattern while covering the full card front. That piece was trimmed down and a birthday sentiment was added.

Postage Collage Card Sets

When I attend crops, I make sets of cards to give to cancer patients.

This set was made using the postage collage set from Waffle Flower. I masked the die cut pieces and used a stencil from Gina K. Designs to stencil the flowers in eight colour schemes. I stamped several different sentiments and added them across the cards. Each front was adhered to green cardstock and a coordinating cardstock base.

Beautiful Blossoms March - No One Compares to You

Welcome to Beautiful Blossoms and the March challenge.

This is a new design team for me - I love working with floral images so it is a great fit!

There is an inspiration photo - you may use that or you can create anything with flowers.

I drew my inspiration from the colours in the photo.

I stamped, stencilled and die cut the flowers. A light grey floral frame was adhered to a white card base and I added the flowers with thin foam tape. The sentiment was hot foiled and added in the centre with some gold metallic thread underneath. Gold gems were placed around the card.

CD 643 - Thinking of You Anemone

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 643!

This was a tough challenge for me as I really struggled to use only these two colours together.

I pulled out an old set of layering dies and die cut the pieces from white, blue and pearly white cardstock. They were layered together and I cut a circle from the centre and added a stitched circle around the opening. The flower was die cut from purple and silver and lightly inked before it was assembled. I added some silver leaf images around the flower an stamped a sentiment that was placed on the right. Some clear gems were placed on and around the flower.

MTTCC 108 - Striped Ribbon Poinsettia Card

Welcome to My Time to Craft Christmas Challenge 108!

The theme for this challenge is to use a supply of ribbon.

I embossed a piece of white cardstock and added ribbon strips in red and green across the raised sections. The poinsettia flowers and leaves were stamped, coloured and die cut and I arranged them in the centre. A heat embossed sentiment was placed across the flowers and I added clear Stickles to the yellow centres.

The first card I created for this challenge was a big OOPS! I used the same design but with thinner ribbon. The image was stamped, stencilled and die cut and also has a heat embossed sentiment. Clear gems were placed around the image.

Too bad it wasn't a Christmas card! I guess I need to watch the challenge requirement a little more closely!
