A friend sent me a gorgeous Christmas card in this style and I had to figure it out for myself. The front panel of the slimline card opens in the middle.
This was actually my second full attempt (with many failed attempts prior to that). The base is Lagoon cardstock, followed by gold glitter paper and a piece of patterned paper on top that looks like an alcohol ink pattern. The circles were cut from the patterned paper (using a die) and I die cut smaller circles to go on the gold glitter paper. The butterflies were stamped, coloured and fussy cut because the dies left too much of a white border for my liking. The front panel was cut exactly in half and the middle circle was adhered only on one side. I chose a sentiment that could be split fairly easily in half and added that to the front along with some gold gems. Parts of the butterflies were brushed with a gold shimmer brush.
Inside the card, two butterflies were stamped and coloured before the white piece was adhered to a gold glitter mat and then to the back of the card.
Products used are as follows:
Paper: Ink Drops - Candy (Craft Consortium), White Daisy Cardstock, Lagoon Cardstock, Gold Glitter Paper (CTMH)
Stamps: Heartfelt Sentiments (Altenew), Butterflies for You, Butterfly Friendship (CTMH)
Inks: Intense Black (Hero Arts)
Accessories: Circle Windows Slimline Die, Gold Glitter Gems, Gold Shimmer Brush, Tri-Blend Markers (CTMH), Black Fine Tip Marker
Enjoy,
Alyson
