Concentric Circle Cards

This is a two for one project... the first card results in circles that are left over and I decided to use them on a second card.

The first card didn't photograph well - it looks like the circles were adhered on top of the patterned paper but they are actually cut out of each carstock square and layered behind the patterned paper. Perhaps setting each layer on thin foam tape would have resulted in a better picture.

The circles were die cut from a various shades of pink cardstock plus the checked paper and layered behind each other. The entire front was adhered to a piece of Wild Berry cardstock and then to a card base. I stamped three butterflies and coloured and die cut them. They were added around the circles. I brushed the butterfly wings with a clear shimmer brush and added a sentiment at the bottom. A fine tip black marker was used to draw tiny dots around the butterflies.

The leftover circles from the first card were used on the second card. These ones were adhered on top of the green card front. I stamped a flower and stem and die cut them. A small gem was added inside the flower and the sentiment was stamped at the bottom.

Products used are as follows:

Paper: Misc. Patterned Paper, White Daisy Cardstock, Wild Berry Cardstock, Pixie Cardstock, Flamingo Cardstock, Ballerina Cardstock, Black Cardstock (all CTMH), Neenah Solar White Cardstock

Stamps: Chelsea Gardens Cardmaking plus dies (CTMH), A Bit of Everything plus dies (Stamp Market)

Inks: Intense Black (Hero Arts), Wild Berry, Emerald (CTMH)

Accessories: Stitched Circle Dies (GMD), Stitched Nested Label Dies (SU), Tri-Blend Markers, Clear Shimmer Brush (CTMH), Emerald Gem (misc.), Fine Tip Black Marker, Thin Craft Foam

Enjoy,

Alyson

  1. Girl, you find the coolest ideas and this one's an oldie and goodie. It's good being reminded of the simple things our dies can do. Back when Spellbinders came out with the first nested circle dies, this was a popular trend for one of the ways to use them. Now, it's time to bring it back and you've done it up in style, xoxo
