Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 74 and Colour Dare Challenge 425!
The expectations for the Double Trouble Challenge are outlined in the graphic below. Detailed information can be found on the challenge blog.
Part of the requirement for Double Trouble is to link your project to Colour Dare Challenge 425. Since I am a design team member on both of these challenges, my project will be shown in the design team member area on both. The Colour Dare graphic is below.
I really struggled with this challenge as there were a lot of elements to consider. I finally settled on a brick embossed background that was blended using Distress Oxide inks. The cat and dog were stamped, die cut and coloured and the teacup was stamped and fussy cut. I wanted a large sentiment so I die cut that along with a thick border using the Hexagon Thin Cuts. A strip of Gold Shimmer Trim and white and gold ribbon were added along with some random gold sequins.
Come and join us at Double Trouble and Colour Dare and show us your projects!
You have two weeks to link up your project.
We can’t wait to see what you create!

I agree, Alyson! What a sweet way to warm the heart. Great use of the color board, too.
Fantastic take on the challenges. I too went with the primary colors from the photo. They sure left us lots to play with, that is for sure.
Adorable card... even though you struggle, you always come through with great cards including all the optional twists. The furry critters look so cuddly in the coffee cup and the sapphire really pops on the card.
What a great card! I love your colors and that blending on the bricks is amazing!
You nailed the cozy background but the POP! of that blue just sucks you right in!
Love the embossed background and those cute critters in the cup!
Your dog and cat look like they could be related to the two I used! You are right, there were a lot of things to combine into this challenge, the blended background was a great way to bring in the colors. Turned out great!
Love the cute cat and dog - and how you have combined so many elements!
Fabulous make for Color Dare!

Fabulous card Alyson. The brick background reflects the photo perfectly. Your ink blending is wonderful and I was just looking online for some hexagon dies last night! X
I like the ombre colored embossing on the background paper! Cute card!
Alyson, love how you used an ombre embossed background for your card! It goes perfectly with your sentiment!!! -Donna
There were definitely a lot of elements to consider on this one but you pulled it together great! I always love me a good ombre background too :)
