Double Trouble 57 - Kraft and Red

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 57 - Week 2!

The basic expectations are the same this week as they were last week except that our partner challenge, Crafting Happiness, has a different expectation.
For their challenge, red must be used.

Please see the challenge details in the grid below and for additional details, visit the
Double Trouble challenge site.

Sometimes my brain just doesn't process everything... I completed this card and as I was taking the pictures, I realized I had used red but no Kraft! Luckily I was able to remove the card front and add some Kraft cardstock as well as black cardstock behind that piece. I also added some tiny little Kraft hearts to my card. Just not paying attention...

My card is CASEd from an Altenew card that used the same stamp and die set. After trying to line up the images using acrylic blocks, I finally gave up and went to my stamp press. I masked the lowest poppy to stamp the leaf over top. The card front is mounted on Kraft, black and finally the white card base.

Come and join us at Double Trouble and show us your kraft and red projects.
You have until Sunday evening to link up your project.
We can’t wait to see what you create!

I am entering my card in the Crafting Happiness challenge as well.

Products used are Close To My Heart unless otherwise indicated:

Paper: White Daisy Cardstock, Kraft Cardstock, Black Cardstock, Neenah Solar White Cardstock
Stamps: Free as a Bird (SU), Painted Poppy (Altenew)
Inks: Black, Candy Apple, Ruby, Green Apple
Accessories: Painted Poppy Dies (Altenww), Shaker Window and Thin Cuts

Enjoy,
Alyson

Yeah many times I've had to adjust my card to meet a requirement, but some how it always seems to work out. I remember another card you did with poppies for a dear friend last year. Poppies although bright always seem calming... Beautiful card.

Beautiful card, Alyson! The bright poppies are a real attention getter. Masking and layering area always very effective,,, and you did a great job here! How appropriate that your poppy card was published on Memorial Day! -Donna

Lovely card, Alyson! I know I have lost sight of the challenge midway through the creative process. You did well - one would never know this is not exactly what you intended. I like the use of black cardstock, too. (My Grandpa always had huge red poppies in his English-style garden.)

Beautiful poppies, Alyson! Yes, I've done this too; the card is finished and then I read it again and realize I missed a key item. You fixed it perfectly and it's gorgeous! I am hoping to join this challenge so thanks for inspiring!
