H2H - National Scrapbook Month with a Bold Shaker Card

Welcome to Heart 2 Heart's weekly challenge! 

This week, since it is National Scrapbooking Month (NSM), Heart 2 Heart is having a National Scrapbooking Month challenge! National Scrapbooking Day was actually on May 2 but the entire month is dedicated to paper crafting. 

You do not have to create a scrapbook page - NSM is all about paper crafting and your project does not have to be a layout. I chose to create a card instead. Close To My Heart has a gorgeous paper pack, coordinating textured cardstock and stamps with thin cuts especially designed for this celebration! 

I chose to use the CTMH line of products (Blue Skies) to create my card. The paper pack has such bold and intense colours - I love it! 

I began by creating a shaker. I didn't want a standard circle or square so I chose a shape from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. I needed enough room for the hot air balloon, the sun and some clouds. The sun and the balloon were stamped first and then masked to sponge the clouds. I created a cloud stencil a while ago (also using my Cricut) - it's so helpful! I chose a few sequins each of several coordinating colours for inside the shaker. The balloon was also brushed with the Clear Shimmer Brush.

The NSM stamp set has lots of images including the flowers and leaves that I used on my card. I stamped and die cut what I needed, including extras for inside the card. The sentiment was stamped using two colours - Lagoon and Sapphire. The pieces were adhered and a few dots and sequins were added to the flower centres.
