DT 168 - Wise Owl

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 168!

It's all about masculine projects this week. The small graphic is below - please visit the Double Trouble Challenge Blog for detailed information.

Shades of turquoise and a masculine card... this was tough! I went back to one of my favourite images for masculine cards and that is the wise owl. I die cut all the pieces from white cardstock and inked them in various shades of brown and added details with coloured pencils and a white gel pen. The woodgrain background was created by scoring vertical lines on a piece of light blue patterned paper and I dragged a turquoise ink pad down the paper, creating a woodgrain appearance. The sentiment was stamped using brown and turquoise ink and die cut using a stitched oval die. The sentiment and the woodgrain background were adhered to brown cardstock and the owl was added on a branch.

Come and join us at Double Trouble and show us how you interpret this challenge.

You have two weeks to link up your project.

I am also linking up my card with the challenge at Colourful Options

We can't wait to see what you create!

Enjoy,

Alyson

That owl keeps trying to squeeze in between your florals... but he is so handsome how could he not. Excellent masculine card and love the sentiment.

Alyson, your coloring of the owl makes it look almost like a photograph! I wish I had your talents! So clever, too, creating the aqua woodgrain background. -Donna
