May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

This month, the featured stamp set is called Time to Celebrate. There are many awesome sentiments and some little stars and hearts in the set - perfect for so many occasions.

You should have arrived here from Melissa Robinson's blog.
If you get lost, a complete list of participants can be found on Melinda Everitt's blog.

The flowers in another new stamp set - A Million Little Things - are stunning! My card is built around one of those flowers. The Stitched Together paper pack has a lot of bold colours in it and that was a good match for what I had in mind.

The patterned paper was all lined with Sapphire cardstock to make it stand out even more. The roses were coloured with the Tri-Blend markers and cut into a circle shape. I had white ribbon, but it was too stark against the off-white shade in the papers - so I coloured my own. Using my Sweet Leaf ink pad, I pushed the white ribbon against the ink. I had to do that on both sides for the purpose of the bow. I could have coloured the ribbon using markers but that is hard on the marker and using re-inker would have resulted in a ribbon that was either too dark or too light as its hard to get the correct shade using that method. Rubbing it along the ink pad gave me a sort of rustic colouring job, which is what I wanted. I added a wooden button with some embroidery floss threaded into it and tied in a bow. "Naked" buttons... well, that just doesn't work for me... The flower was brushed with the Clear Shimmer Brush. The sentiment was stamped using Sapphire ink and added to the card.

I hope you enjoyed my project.
