Thank you to everyone who sent emails, cards, texts or called me this past week. I am so overwhelmed by the number of people who not only read my blog, but felt like they needed to do something for me or for my husband, Dave. You have truly strengthened my faith in humanity and you have made this past week a little more bearable for both of us. I am so sleep deprived at the moment that it is amazing I can actually put this into words...
Dave's surgery was very successful. The doctor was able to burn off the ends of several veins that were causing problems for him and. although we will not know how successful the surgery was for a few months, Dave is doing well right now. He is back at home and resting as much as possible. He is not allowed to lift anything and climbing the stairs is limited to once a day (so only at bedtime). He tries really hard not to be demanding and he really wants to be self-sufficient, so that makes my life a little easier. He really is a good patient. His recovery will take several weeks at least.
I, however, intend to be back, creating, this week. I had a huge workshop on Saturday and my office is a total mess right now but as soon as that is cleaned up and I am functional again, I will be back to posting regularly.
Thank you again for your patience while I was away and for your support and many prayers. I am so lucky to be associated with such wonderful followers on my blog :)

ReplyDeleteSo glad you are both back home and the surgery is behind you, whew! I know just that must be a huge relief to you both. I hope Dave has a speedy recovery and that y'all find that the surgery was successful, so that going through this part of it right now was very much worth it in the long run. Also, neither one of you 'over do' and get lots of much needed rest.... takes time for the body to heal.. physically and emotionally. Take good care of yourself Alyson. Warm hugs to you both!
