HQFSCAT May - Celebrate Cupcake

Welcome to Heart's Quest for Shaped Cards and Tags and our May challenge!

This is always a challenge for shaped cards or tags.

I made a cupcake shaker card for this challenge. I used a set of dies to cut the base shape and turned the top section into a shaker. The colours were determined by the shaker elements. The card stands up on its own and makes a perfect addition to a gift!

HQFSCAT April - Typewriter Card

Welcome to Heart's Quest for Shaped Cards and Tags and our April challenge!

This is always a challenge for shaped cards or tags.

I made a typewriter card for this challenge. I used my Cricut to cut the base shape and I die cut a note piece with a heart at the top. Silver glitter paper was added behind the typewriter keys and I placed the paper so it appears to be coming out of the typewriter. The typed sentiment was stamped in black - typical font from an old style typewriter.

HQFSCAT - You are Tea-rrific

Welcome to Heart's Quest for Shaped Cards and Tags and our March challenge!

This is always a challenge for shaped cards or tags.

I chose to create a teapot card. I used my Cricut to cut two bases and the blue border for the pot. The cup and flowers were masked and I coloured the images. The sentiment was stamped on the cup and I added a few heat lines above the cup. I added clear Stickles to the centres of the flowers.

HQ for Shaped Cards and Tags - Thankful for You

Welcome to Heart'sQuest for Shaped Cards and Tags and our February challenge!

This challenge is always about tags or shaped cards.

I used a set of dies from The Stamps of Life to create this thankful card.

The dies honestly do all the work for this - I just chose the papers. Since the sentiment is all about thankfulness, I decided to add some hearts along the sides. I didn't have a lot of choice of colours as the papers were blue, cinnamon and peach so I stayed with those colours. I added a smaller heart to the centre of the larger ones and I placed a gold gem in the centre of the smallest hearts. There is a panel inside the card to write a message.

HQSCAT - Stencilled Butterfly

Welcome to Heart's Quest for Shaped Cards and Tags and our January challenge!

I chose to create a butterfly shaped card.

The butterfly image was stencilled using eight shades of Distress Oxide ink. That shape was die cut and I cut a second piece to create the card so it would stand up. I also added a black body. The sentiment was placed across the centre and I added some black gems to finish it off.

HQ Shaped Card or Tag - Holiday Cookie Jar

Welcome to Heart's Quest Shaped Card or Tag challenge!

This is my first post as a member of this design team.

This challenge is all about shaped cards or tags.

I chose to create a holiday cookie jar card.

The jar was die cut from white and I cut the outline several times and stacked them together. The base of the jar was inked in shades of blue and grey. All the cookies inside were stamped, stencilled and die cut. I actually glued them in place as they didn't want to shake inside... I added a sentiment on top and some holiday greenery on the top of the jar.
