Rainbow Birthday Card

 This card is the result of another 30 Minute Card Making Stash Dash. 

The parameters were as follows: Type of card: 5x7 card, Colour: rainbow, Embellishment: shiny, Technique: tearing, Occasion: birthday. 

I inked the card base in a rainbow colour scheme and added a black mat to that piece. The design was hot foiled with rainbow foil and I embossed a white sentiment on black cardstock and tore that piece. I decorated the sentiment with some clear Stickles (they will show better when they dry than what you see in the photo).

CC Cardmaking Event - Day 1

The last weekend in September, I spent four continuous days doing the Crop and Create Cardmaking event. This was my seventh card event with Scrapbook and Cards and it just keeps getting better! It's a very hectic four days with many, many classes, but so many interesting ideas are always introduced and of course, participants receive a huge box with all the goodies for the event!  

There were 54 cards to make during the regular event and since it took place over four days, I decided to split the posts by day to better show all of the cards.

TSOT 657 - Merry and Bright

 Welcome to Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge 657!

The sketch shows a large oval with a ghost inside. I decided to do something a little different. 

The front of this card has a die cut opening in the shape of the MERRY tree. I layered snowflake paper and then a large oval with a border on the front and die cut the shape through all those layers. The inside image was die cut from various colours of cardstock and adhered to a piece of vellum. I also die cut the word "bright" to go with "merry &". Some small silver snowflakes were placed on the large oval and I put a small blue gem on top of each of those images. A clear shimmer brush was used on the large letters to add some shine.

Peace on Earth

The background for this card was foiled using a Gina K Designs foil background. That was cut down and added to a blue mat, a gold mat and a white card base. The poinsettia images were die cut, inked and assembled. I cut that large floral spray into several pieces and adhered them in the two corners. I added some blue gems around the floral images and the sentiment was placed across the centre with a large poinsettia at the side.

Gold Embossed Pinecones

 This card was so easy to make. I stamped a pinecone image on a white panel and embossed it in gold. I blended red ink over the embossing and wiped away the excess. That panel was adhered to a black mat, a white mat and finally to a Kraft card base. I added two hot foiled sentiments with gold metallic thread underneath. Some gold gems were placed around the sentiments.

Fold Open Snow Globe Card

 This cute card is based on one I saw somewhere on social media. 

There are three panels - the back panel has an embossed snowflake pattern with blue ink on it and that is visible from the front through the snow globe. There is a snowman on one panel and the actual snow globe on the front panel. I added a piece of white glitter cardstock inside the shaker along with the "snow". Since the shaker element is visible from the back, I had to do that process in reverse as well. The snowman was added on the right panel so it shows behind the shaker.

MTTCC 97 - Santa Express

 Welcome to My Time to Craft Christmas Challenge 97!

The theme for this challenge is the Polar Express or trains. 

This was a difficult challenge for me - I don't have any train stamps or dies and nothing related to The Polar Express. It was time to turn to my trusty Cricut. I purchased an image and printed it - no cutting required. That was trimmed and adhered to layers of cardstock offset to one corner. I didn't add anything else to this card - the image was busy enough.

Blue Door Card

 You may recognize this card style as I made another one for part of a virtual event. I wanted to redo it with a blue door. 

The backgound was embossed with a brick pattern and lightly inked to enhance the design. The door was die cut and I added some shading with a stencil. A small sentiment was stamped across the steps and two topiary plants were placed at the sides of the door. 

The door opens to reveal a tree with presents and a message.

Glitter Christmas Tree

 This is such a cute but simple card that I saw on Pinterest. The tree image was die cut from a piece of Kraft cardstock smaller than the card base. Three strips of green glitter paper were placed across the front of the card. The sentiment was stamped in dark green and the open tree was placed on top of the glitter strips with foam tape. A gold star was added to the top of the tree.

Poinsettia Frame

 This pretty poinsettia frame was stamped and stencilled, with gold paste used for the flower centres. I used a gold pen to add details to the petals. The frame was cut down and adhered to a gold mat and then a red card base. A hot foiled sentiment was added with some gold metallic thread and I added gold Stickles around the flowers. It's so nice when products work so well together to make such a simple but gorgeous card!
