TSOT 692 - Cacti Trio

Welcome to Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge 692!

The sketch is shown below.

I stencilled the background with blue ink on blue cardstock. The two light purple panels were embossed and added to the card front. I die cut some plant pots and cacti images and adhered them to a hexagon that was lightly inked with blue behind the images. The sentiment was stamped at the bottom. I added a few silver shimmer gems around the hexagon.

DT 213 - Bunny in Basket

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 213!

The small graphic is shown below - please visit the Double Trouble Challenge Blog for detailed information.

I die cut all the pieces for the bunny and assembled him. Once I die cut the basket, I realized the bunny was awfully large to fit in the basket... so it's an oversized bunny! The images were assembled and placed on a blue oval with a black mat. I also matted the plaid paper with black. A sentiment was added at the bottom and I used a white gel pen to add some details.
3 - die cuts
2 - colours
1 - sentiment

Hello Leaf Card

This was an easy card to make - some embossing, strips of paper and a die cut image. I chose gold for the leaf to highlight the gold lines in the patterned paper. The sentiment was placed on the same angle as the papers.

This could be an easy card to replicate for card sets - maybe down the road...

LST Thanks

This set of cards is from the Let's Stamp Together subscription program. Concord and 9th created this set.

There are several stencils to create the main sentiment and the florals. The colour schemes are soft and pretty, withe blue, green, turquoise and coral. I love how these turned out and can definitely see myself using this product suite again down the road!

These are bonus cards from this kit.

The first pair were stencilled in the same colour scheme and I love the light orange and dark pink for the flowers. The stencilling on Kraft was done with white pigment ink first and the colours were added on top.

The large thanks is so versatile, especially with the coordinating die. The first card has a unique opening as well with the scalloped piece being the card base.

CD 697 - Sending So Much Love

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 697!

The colour grid is below.

I used green in addition to yellow.

The background was masked and ink blended with grey ink. The sentiment was stamped off to the right side. The floral image was die cut, stencilled, then stencilled again with a dot pattern over the open stencil to get the pattern on the flowers and stacked three times. That was added to the side after a black mat was placed under the main panel. Some iridescent gems finished off this pretty card.

Split Scene Card Set

This is another set of cards made for the care-ing team at my church to send to people who need a pick me up.

I chose a few scene papers and cut them into three strips. They were arranged on cardstock pieces and adhered to coloured card bases. I added a stamped or hot foiled sentiment on each. I made a total of 16 of these cards. Easy!

Blue Flower Card Set

This is another (smaller) set of cards for the care-ing team (yes, it's spelled correctly) at my church as they send cards to people who need a pick me up.

I stamped the floral images and adhered them to blue mats. The backgrounds have patterned paper pieces cut on a diagonal to add some interest. No embellishments were added to keep the cards flat for mailing.

Just for You Floral Spray

This card was made for a weekly challenge that I like to enter.

The details are below.

The background was stencilled in light grey. I used old striped papers for the three panels and added a floral spray based on colours from the stripes. The sentiment was embossed and added at the side of the flowers. I used a black pen to add dots around the images.

Stamped Greenery Card Set

A team from my church sends cards to people who are ill, haven't attended for a while or have suffered a loss. I make cards regularly for this team and this is a recent set.

I stamped the images and sentiments on white cardstock. The card fronts were adhered to dark blue mats and then a green card bases. I purposely avoided any embellishments so the cards are flat for mailing.

Floral Coloured Cards

I have had this Spellbinders stamp set for ages and finally brought it out to play!

The images were stamped, coloured and die cut with an oval shape. I cut a second, larger oval for the mat. The background was embossed and everything was adhered to an A2 card base. I used a shimmer brush to add some shimmer to a handful of the flowers.

Hot Diggity Dog

This cute card was inspired by one on the Waffle Flower website.

I die cut the postage background and used the stencils to mask to squares and ink blend a blue background. The silhouette images were all die cut and added to the background. I stamped two sentiments and placed them along the dotted sections. I used a white gel pen to add details to the images.

Cut It Up 352 - Hello in Green

Welcome to Cut It Up Challenge 352!

The theme for this challenge is forever green - green must be the focus of your project.

I chose a tried and true design with four wide borders and the sentiment in the centre. I inked a piece of vellum and used that to die cut the shadow for the sentiment. I also stamped some leaf images and added them behind the sentiment. A few green gems were placed around the word.

Panel Card with Pink Flowers

This cute card was inspired by one from an online crop in early January.

The black and white pieces were cut to fit the card font and I used a black marker to edge all the pieces. The sentiment was embossed on a solid black cardstock piece. I die cut the flower and leaf images from white cardstock and inked them. They were assembled to the left of the sentiment.

This card style works with a wide variety of patterned papers - perhaps something to do in the future!

Enjoy,

Warm Colour Wheel Card

A card like this on the Spellbinders website inspired mine.

I chose a warm colour scheme with shades of yellow and orange. The wheel was die cut and I cut several shades of cardstock and arranged them in order around the wheel. The floral pieces were die cut from various cardstock colours and I inked them to add more dimension. The floral spray was arranged on the side and I added a sentiment with gold metallic thread and some gold gems. Everything was placed on a 3D embossed white background.

TSOT 691 - Hey There Animal Trio

Welcome to Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge 691!

The sketch is shown below.

I chose three woodland animals for the circles on my card. They were stamped and coloured. I arranged two pieces of patterned paper on the front and added a thin strip of grey cardstock between them. That same cardstock was used to create a frame around each of the circles. The sentiment was heat embossed and I added three gems at the top where the footprint is located on the sketch.

DT 212 - Ink Blended Deer Card

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 212!

The small graphic is shown below - please visit the Double Trouble Challenge Blog for detailed information.

This was a quick and easy card to make! I ink blended a background using four shades of Distress Oxide ink. The black frame and two deer were die cut and I embossed the sentiment at the bottom of the frame. The images were arranged on the inked panel and I used a white gel pen to draw lines on each side.

BB March - Friend Lilies

Welcome to Beautiful Blossoms and our March challenge!

The inspiration photo is below. It's optional to use this but your project must have a focus on florals.

I drew my inspiration from both the flowers and the colours in the photo. I embossed the lily outline and both sentiments in black. The florals were stencilled and the frame was die cut and stacked three times. I die cut a geometric background and stacked that three times as well. Everything was layered on white cardstock and trimmed. The frame was placed on a yellow mat and a black card base. Some gold gems were added to the card.

You are So Very Special Fun Fold Card

This is such a cute card with a great surprise inside. When the card is opened, there are two flaps that pop out.

I chose turquoise and brown papers and stamped, stencilled and die cut lots of images. I arranged some of them on the front and added the sentiment at the bottom. Inside the card, there is a place to write a message and there are two flaps that open on the top and bottom. I decorated those was well. The only embellishment added was Liquid Pearls to the centres of the flowers.

This card can also be made in landscape format so the flaps open sideways.

CD 695 - Birthday Stripes

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 695!

The colour grid is below.

I used all 6 colours plus silver and black.

I cut strips of cardstock from all six colours in 1/4" strips. The silver foil pieces were cut at 1/8". I arranged the pieces on a sheet of printer paper, maintaining a colour pattern. That piece was adhered to a black base. I die cut two circles and embossed the sentiments in silver. That was adhered slightly above the centre and a few black gems were added around the sentiment.

Triple Mini Book Card

This was such a fun card to make and it stands up to showcase the inside.

I chose floral patterned papers - the patterns are quite busy and in hindsight, I would change the paper designs to less complex patterns for when I make this again.

There is a hot foiled sentiment on the front and a second sentiment inside the card and I added a few butterflies as well.

Carnation Slimline Card

This card is based on a sketch - although the sketch uses snowflakes, I chose to make a rainbow card using carnation images.

The flower, leaves and berries were stamped (layering stamps) and die cut. I cut grey patterned paper on an angle but you don't see that on the finished card. The carnations were arranged down the angled paper and I added the berries and leaves underneath. The sentiment plus a small bow were added along with several silver gems.

Turquoise Roses in Frame

This card was inspired by one I found on the Waffle Flower site. I recently bought the stencilled roses and wanted to try this idea.

I am not overly happy with the results but I thought I would post this anyways. The stencil and die set is a bit difficult to use... stencilling first makes it hard to align the die as it is solid. Die cutting first makes it hard to line up the stencils as the leaves are flimsy and don't always end up in the right spots. I chose to stencil first and then die cut...

I die cut several frames from four shades of pink cardstock, each one progressively smaller. In real life, there are four definitive shades of pink but in the photos, it looks like only two shades. The roses were placed on two different layers and an embossed sentiment was added along with some clear gems.

Enjoy,

Alyson

AH 672 - Big Hugs Lemons

Welcome to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 672!

The sketch is shown below.

I stayed true to the sketch with the panels and used a lemon theme. I stamped some lemons and leaves and die cut those as well as a branch and a flower. The sentiment was stamped and die cut with a frame. The card front was adhered to a black card base.

Kraft Oval Card Set

This is another set of cards that I finished at a recent crop day. The images are the same on every card but I changed the patterned paper behind the oval. The butterflies were coloured and I brushed them with a clear shimmer brush to add some shimmer. I made 16 of these - two sets of eight cards each.

FQCC March - Cherish The Season Shaker Window

Welcome to FarmQuest Country Christmas and our March challenge!

I recently received some winter scene cards and used one of those for the basis of my card.

I die cut a frame with four windows and turned that into a shaker with the scene behind. The background was embossed with a woodgrain folder and I dragged a brown ink pad over top to enhance the pattern. The scene was set on white cardstock and adhered to the woodgrain panel. I added a hot foiled sentiment across the centre of the window.

Cut It Up 351 - Birthday Leaves

Welcome to Cut It Up Challenge 351!

The theme for this challenge is happy birthday.

I chose to make a leaf based card. The background was splattered with gold paint and I added several die cut leaf images under the circle. I drew details on some of the leaves. The circle was die cut and I embossed the sentiment in the centre. Stickles were added to the circles on the outside frame. The sentiment piece and the background were adhered with foam tape.

Set of Rabbit Cards

I love this adorable rabbit - I made one card in this style a while ago and decided to do a pile of die cutting and assembled 12 of these at a recent crop. I made them in six colour schemes for two sets of six cards each.

Alyson
