TSOT 696 - Doodled Stones

Welcome to Try a Sketch on Tuesday Challenge 696!

The sketch is shown below.

Doodling has never been my thing... I always struggle with it. A friend of mine introduced me to some different methods of doodling and I really liked the "stones" look. It took me several tries to get the results I wanted. I doodled the stones, coloured and shaded them and added some white details on a large piece of white cardstock. The squares were cut from that piece and adhered to white mats. The black background was embossed and I arranged the squares as per the sketch. I also cut two very thin strips of white cardstock to add between the squares. The sentiment was stamped and I used the same markers to blend a background for the mat behind the sentiment.

Come and join us at TSOT and show us how you interpret this challenge.

You have two weeks to link up your project.

We can't wait to see what you create!

Enjoy,

Alyson

  1. Love how you worked in your borders using the white panels. Oh my, I was tickled to see your doodling of rocks, a fun masculine card. I remember your thought on our DTC doodling a while back wasn't sure you could doodle... but you had and you have again done a fun doodling card with our TSOT sketch. One of our future challenges will be doodling. Even though you have chosen to retire from both TSOT and DTC... hope you join us again with your fantastic creativity in doodling.

  4. A great interpretation of the sketch! I'm glad you stuck with the doodled rocks, because they turned out amazing. I love how you used the same colors for the gradient mat for the greeting. Thanks for sharing with Double Trouble! ~ Andrea La Vigne, Double Trouble Crazy Cousin for May

  5. Such style, Alyson! Your technique is so creative and colorful. I agree that using the same colors behind the sentiment was a perfect choice. We'll miss your beautiful creations at TSOT (and Double Trouble), so please join our challenges when you can. -- Melanie R.
