DT 69 - Monster Peeking...

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge #69!

Halloween is around the corner and this is your chance to create a project for that purpose.

Take a look at the graphic below - this provides basic information only. To view the detailed requirements for the challenge, please visit the Double Trouble Challenge Blog.

I started by creating the blue and white background - a stencil, Distress Oxide Ink and White Pigment Ink were used to create the 3-D effect. There is a close up of part of that card further down in this post. I used my Cricut to cut the group of produce and coloured in the back sections in the appropriate colours for the challenge.  I went back to a very old stamp set - the only stamp I have that represents anything at all for Halloween - and used a monster from that set along with the sentiment. The monster is peeking out from behind the pear and I added googly eyes to his eyeballs as well. The sentiment was masked so I could stamp it in two colours.

Come and join us at Double Trouble and show us how you use the colours provided to create some Halloween artwork.

You have two weeks to link up your project.

We can’t wait to see what you create!

I am also linking up my card with the Halloween challenge at The Paper Girls.

DT 66 - Ski Snowfall Double Shaker

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge #66!

This week, it's all about creating a scene - any season, any location, etc. The second part of the challenge is to add some form of transportation to your scene and then link up with The Paper Girls challenge (#207). The condensed graphic is below - additional details can be found on the Double Trouble blog.

This card took me quite some time to complete - it's all created using various Cricut cuts. I cut various trees, the moose and the skiis first and inked around the edges of all the pieces. The background was sponged using Distress Oxide inks and then a white chalk marker was used to create snow. The back layer of trees was adhered directly to the background and I added some snowy confetti along with some silver stars to turn that piece into a shaker. The remaining trees were adhered onto the acetate and then more snowy confetti was added. The top layer was created by welding some ovals together to look like a snowy hill. I adhered the moose and and skis just under that top piece of acetate and added a sentiment along with some silver embellishing thread. The final layer was placed on top of the previous layer to create two separate sections with snow. I inked the white area on the front with a very light Linen ink pad as snow is never really white :)

I am linking up my project with the Paper Girls Challenge #207.

Come and join us at Double Trouble and show us how you interpret the challenge requirements.

Butterfly For You

I am loving the Double Trouble challenges - they offer a lot of variety and different types of challenges to spark your creativity.

Thing 1 - create what you want as it is an open challenge.

Thing 2 gives you the option to link up with any of a number of listed challenges.

Thing 3 is to use pink as the dominant colour on your project.

I used a sketch I found on Pinterest for the basis of my card.

I random stamped the background paper and then used my Cricut to create the scalloped piece and the frame. The leaves were brushed with the Julep Shimmer Brush and the butterfly was coloured using Touch markers (although it is very light...) and then the centre was brushed with the Clear Shimmer Brush.

Two pieces were embossed and then it didn't take long to assemble the card, after which
I added a few pink gems.

I am linking my card up with the Double Trouble challenge as well as The Paper Girls
(their theme is anything goes).

Thankful, Grateful, Blessed...

I can’t believe I am back with a second post today!

I wanted to enter the Double Trouble challenge this week - their theme is to create a fall card.

That also allows me to link up with the Paper Girls challenge as they are also doing fall cards for their current challenge.

I pulled out one of my old embossing folders - Woodgrain. I used Pebble Cardstock and then took my Linen ink pad and rubbed it over the top of the embossing to bring out the design. The leaves were cut from Close To My Heart's new Layered Leaves Thin Cuts. I used a variety of cardstock colours and stamped the sentiment in Versamark, then embossed it in gold. I added some gold trim and gold embellishing thread. I also brushed some of the leaves and around the sentiment with the Gold Shimmer Brush - although in the photo, it just appears kind of wet. It looks very different in real life.

Come and join these challenges and show off your autumn card. It's such a great time of the year.
