Christmas Trio

This sweet card was created for a virtual crop challenge.

The challenge is shown below.

I stamped and coloured three small images - Santa, Mrs. Claus and Rudolph. The pieces were trimmed to uniform sizes and arranged on a green background. I added a sentiment above plus two tiny poinsettias.

Warm Winter Hugs

This is another card created for an online crop.

The challenge is shown below.

I chose a winter theme. The colours of the background papers drove the colours for the snowmen's hats and scarves. I embossed the light green cardstock behind the panels and embossed the sentiment before adding a few iridescent sequins.

A Frosty Hello

This card was created for an online crop - the challenge was based on an old Mojo Monday sketch.

The challenge is below.

I chose a blue colour scheme and matted every piece of patterned paper. The snowman image was just the right size to fit in the smallest piece. Silver ribbon was placed across the card and I adde a few clear gems.

Hero Arts Holiday Event 3

This is the third and final post for the Hero Arts Holiday Event.

The first card is so bold and colourful - and it also has glitter paste on one of the stencilled colours. The wreath is a perfect place for the tiny Santa to rest.

The second card is a Pop and Twist card - easy to make but it is a big surprise when it is opened to reveal four panels of images.

Hero Arts Holiday Event 2

This is the second post for the Hero Arts Holiday Event.

These two cards look so simple on the front - designed that way on purpose. When the cards are opened, there is a cool pop-up feature in each. One has a sentiment stamped below the pop-up image.

Hero Arts Holiday Event 1

I recently did the Hero Arts Holiday Event and made a few cards... the first two are in this post. More posts to follow...

The first card is a double shaker card. There are two shaker openings and the sentiment pieces were placed partly over the shakers. That Santa image is TINY - the pieces are among the smallest I have ever assembled!

The second card is 5x7 in size and has four panels of images or sentiments. There is a lot happening in the background - white snowflakes stamped on the panels backs and a stencilled background, for example. I love the blue colour scheme!

Alphabet Challenge - Letter U for Underwater

This card was made for the Alphabet Challenge that I have been doing all year. In October, the letters are T and U and this is my card for the letter U.

U stands for underwater.

I ink blended a background with rays of light coming from the top and splattered that with water. The images were stamped, coloured and die cut and a few were just die cut and inked. Everything was arranged on the front and I added clear Stickles to some of the images and the bubbles.

AH 704 - Celebrate Cupcakes

Welcome to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 704!

The sketch is shown below.

This sketch seems a bit difficult at first glance. I chose not to use banner elements but used balloons instead and that led to my decision to use a trio of cupcakes.
The cross piece was still used on my card as a grounding element for the cupcakes. I stamped, coloured and die cut three of them. They were placed on the turquoise shape. The balloons were die cut and inked and I added each one with a piece of twine leading to each of the cupcakes. The sentiment was inked in a rainbow colour scheme and added to a black shadow.

Come and join us at Atlantic Hearts and show us how you interpret this sketch.

You have until Sunday evening to link up your project.

We can't wait to see what you create!

Peace Floral Spray

This card was inspired by one on the Honey Bee Stamps website.

The plaid background was partially covered with a dotted piece of paper. All the images were die cut and some were inked for dimension. They were arranged along the left side of the card and I added a die cut sentiment with a glitter shadow. Some clear gems were placed around the card and I splattered the front with white paint as well.

Alphabet Challenge - Letter T for Teacup and Turquoise

This card was created for the Alphabet Challenge - the month of October requires projects for letters T and U. This is my card for the letter T.

T stands for teacup, tea bag and turquoise/teal.

I die cut the background and adhered it to turquoise cardstock. The images were stamped, coloured and die cut and I arranged the flowers on top of the teacup. The sentiment was placed in the top corner and I added small gems to the holes on the background.

Cut It Up 367 - Pink Flowers

Welcome to Cut It Up Challenge 367!

The theme for this challenge is pretty in pink. Pink must be the focal colour.

I embossed the cardstock and then stencilled the flowers and leaves. I splattered the card with black paint and added a hot foiled sentiment at the bottom and gold gems around the flowers.

Come and join us at Cut It Up and show us how you interpret this challenge.

You have until Monday, October 26 to link up your project.

We can't wait to see what you create!

Birthday Wishes Cards

These two cards were made in the same style - one in blue and one in pink.

I die cut a circle with surrounding dots and embossed the card front. The floral images were arranged around the circle with the sentiment stamped on the card base.

Successful Adulting and Birthday Cards

These two cards were created for challenges for an online crop.

I chose a blue colour theme for the birthday card - the pieces were die cut and arranged on a foiled background. I used a shimmer brush to add shine to some of the flowers.

The second card also has a foiled background with glitter paper strips and a snarky sentiment.

Pumpkin Thanks

This card is from the 30 Minute Card Making Stash Dash.

The parameters were as follows: Card Style: surprise inside, Colour: orange, Embellishment: ribbon/twine, Technique: crafter's choice and Occasion: thank you or just because.

I chose a pumpkin theme. I don't have the dies for the pumpkin images so they were all stamped, coloured and fussy cut (technique). I lightly inked the edges of a white card panel and adhered an embossed piece inside the gold circle. The pumpkins were arranged in one corner along with some brown twine.

Inside the card, there is a pop-up feature plus a large sentiment.

Penguin Pop and Twist Card

This card is one that I taught in my Facebook group... it's a pop and twist card.

When the card is opened, the four panels twist and pop up.

I stamped the inside background with a snowflake stamp and embossed the same stamp on each of the panels. The images were stamped, coloured and die cut and I arranged them on the four panels and on the front. A large sentiment was added to the front panel as well. To keep this card as flat as possible, I didn't add any embellishments to it.

Upside Down Arch Card with Angels

I saw a card sort of like this and very specific dies were used to make it. I wanted to try to recreate something similar without using specific dies.

I used a nesting arch die set to create the card base and the layers. The images were stamped, coloured and fussy cut. I also die cut a piece of white glitter paper for the base. The cloud image was suspended from the top of the card and I added clear Stickles to the wings of the angels and the cloud with stars.

LST Non-Traditional Leaf Cards

This is the second set of cards using the latest Let's Stamp Together kit.

I love the non-traditional colours of pink and purple with orange. Gold metallic cardstock was used as a shadow for the images on the acetate front card. The shaker card has gold and clear sequins in the shaker.

Black and White Thinking of You

This card is from the 30 Minute Card Making Stash Dash.

The parameters for this challenge were as follows: Style: A2 Landscape, Colours: black and white, Embellishment: die cut or punch, Technique: tearing and Occasion: thinking of you or holiday.

I tore two pieces of patterned paper and adhered them at the bottom of the card. The leaves were die cut from black glitter paper and added to the front. A thin strip of black cardstock was placed at the top of the patterned pieces and I stamped a small sentiment at the side.

I finished in under 20 minutes!

Christmas Floral Spray

This pretty card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest.

The card base was inked in shades of green and I adhered two layers of a stitched border angled across the base. The floral spray was die cut, assembled and added to the top layer and I placed a hot foiled sentiment on the front. I used a white gel pen and some gold Stickles to add details to the images.

Friendship Sunflowers

This card was CASEd from a design made by Mindy Eggen.

I masked the background and inked it with teal ink. I stamped a text background on top, embossed it and then removed the masking tape. The sunflowers were die cut, inked and assembled on the front. I added a sentiment at the bottom and some gems on and around the sunflowers.

Enjoy,
