Large Birdie Card Set

I posted a card with nine little birdies a few days ago - this is a set of cards using the same set of stamps and stencils from Concord and 9th except it features the larger birds.

I stencilled two of each bird in four different colours and added wings to them. I chose various feet, beaks, eyes and details and also stamped some splatters at the edges. The card fronts were adhered to coloured cardstock and I drew a black line around the edge of each card. There are a total of eight cards in the set - four are shown here.

AH 554 - Floral All Kinds of Wonderful

Welcome to Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 554!

The sketch is shown in vertical format but it certainly can be rotated. I chose to made my card in the same orientation as the sketch.

I stencilled a maze-like background using two shades of people Distress Oxide inks. The sentiment was stamped using dark purple ink on white cardstock and I placed a piece of bold green cardstock at the top. The flowers were die cut from white cardstock and inked to add colour. I used a white gel pen to add some details. The entire card front was adhered to dark purple cardstock and I added three green enamel gems next to the sentiment.

TSOT 636 - You are my Rainbow

Welcome to Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge 636!

The optional theme (in addition to the sketch) is bundle up.

I chose to use just the sketch. I used a rainbow hot foiled background that I made ages ago and I used a piece of red glitter paper for the strip on the right side.  The rainbow image was stencilled and I added two clouds with faces at the ends. The rainbow sentiment was die cut from a piece of rainbow inked cardstock and adhered to a black border. The smaller sentiment was white heat embossed. I added a thin piece of black twine behind the sentiment and tied a small bow at the left.

Come and join us at TSOT and show us how you interpret this week's challenge.

HLS Christmas - Moose Greetings

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge for December!

The optional theme for this challenge is to use festive animals.

I chose a holiday moose stamp for my card. I stamped the moose once and fussy cut it. I stamped it again on making paper and then stamped the image three more times on the card front, slightly changing the height of each moose. They were coloured and I stencilled a sun and some clouds behind the images. A piece of white glitter paper was cut on an angle to use as the snow. Two parts of a holiday sentiment were placed at the bottom before the card front was adhered to a black mat and then a blue card base.

DT 155 - Friendship Peonies

Welcome to Double Trouble Challenge 155!

This is the last challenge of the year and it runs until the end of the month. Please visit the Double Trouble challenge site for detailed information.

I always need friendship cards so this was a good opportunity to create another one!

The flowers were stamped, stencilled and die cut. I also die cut a detailed white flower background. The background was adhered to mint cardstock and then to a black card base. The flowers were arranged in a half wreath at the top and placed over a heat embossed sentiment on vellum. I aded some blue metallic thread in the top left corner and also tied a small bow that was placed off centre on the wreath. Two thin strips of glitter paper were added across the bottom of the vellum piece and some clear dew drops were placed on the flowers and leaves.

Come and join us at Double Trouble and show us how you interpret this challenge.

You have until the end of the month to link up your project.

I am also linking up my card with the challenge at Use Your Stuff (wrap it up).

DD December - Peace, Love, Joy Snowflake

Welcome to Dragonfly Dreams December Challenge!

The theme this month is Christmas.

My Christmas cards are complete, written and some have been mailed already. The remainder will be mailed this week. This card will go into my stash for next season.

The glitter background was die cut with a curved border and also a stitched rectangle. A second piece of white cardstock was also die cut using the stitched rectangle so the stitch marks would be consistent around the card front. I die cut snowflakes from white glitter foam and silver foil. The largest snowflake was adhered on the left side and I added another silver snowflake on top, along with a blue gem. The smaller snowflakes were placed at the bottom where the sentiment was stamped. The card front was adhered with craft foam and I added a silver cord to the large snowflake so it looks like an ornament.

Come and join us at Dragonfly Dreams and show us your Christmas creations.

You have until early in January to link up your project.

HLS Birthday - Full Front Shaker Card

Welcome to Happy Little Stampers Birthday Challenge for December!

This is always an anything goes challenge as long as the theme is birthday.

I created a full front shaker card. The background was made with alcohol inks and I placed a Waffle Flower shaker element around the card front. Purple and gold sequins were placed inside and that was sealed. The frame and birthday sentiment were hot foiled in gold and placed toward the top and a smaller heat embossed sentiment was added at the bottom. There is a lot going on with this card so I decided not to add anything else to it.

Come and join us at HLS Birthday and show us your birthday projects.

SS 740 - Time to Celebrate

Welcome to Sketch Saturday Challenge 740!

The optional theme (in addition to the sketch) is to make a second card in a mirror of the sketch.

I cut some coloured cardstock and adhered it to a piece of white cardstock before running that piece through my die cut machine with a 3D embossing folder. The imprint carries across the entire card front. I die cut some flowers and leaves and added them at the bottom left and tucked two hot foiled sentiments underneath. A few silver glitter gems and a clear shimmer brush added a bit of detail to the finished card.

CD 577 - Inked Squares Card

Welcome to Colour Dare Challenge 577!

You must use all three colours (blue, pink and purple) for this challenge. Details are on the graphic below.

I spent some time ink blending 24 small panels with shades of pink, purple and blue. Once they were all cut to size, I ordered them as close to rainbow order as I could. They were placed on a piece of printer paper and then adhered to silver foil. The floral image was embossed in white and added across the squares. I added a stamped sentiment on the left side and placed some clear dew drops around the card.

MTTC 522 - Candy Canes

Welcome to My Time to Craft Challenge 522!

The theme for this challenge is Christmas food.

This was tough for me... I considered using my Cricut but finally decided that candy canes are a food associated with Christmas and I had a small candy cane stamp image to use.

That candy cane image, along with a few cups of hot chocolate with a candy cane in them were stamped and coloured. They were placed behind a die cut background and I blocked off two circles to add a sentiment. The red front was adhered to a black mat and then to the white card base. I brushed the candy canes with a clear shimmer brush but didn't add any other embellishments to this card.
